600zx - Finally back to work....
Its gonna be worth it mate,Chevy v8s sound awsome with a good set of headers and a four barrel carb,A neighbour has been ranting his corvette around last weekend and it sounds amazing!Stay positive it will get done. What gearbox are you using?Have you kept the standard rear axle? I visited a drag car builder last week so see what he could do with my z31.All being well if work stays busy i may get mine in over the winter for the conversion.Even if its just the the block, box, axle.propshaft ect.Not sure which route to go down with the gearbox but were looking at the 350ciBlock ,th350 box with shifter and a narrowed ford 9" rear axle.tubbed caged ect.I have a engine reserved it needs a rebuild but i would like to turbo the chevy if i can afford to so will need compression lowered anyway.(see how the funding goes it may be on n/a for a while) any tips are welcomed.Keep up the good work

My New car
Thats a nice choice madmax You cant beat a porker when it comes to reliability. Ive been lucky enough to own a couple of porkers and they have never let me down(only a 944 and a boxster) so not in the same league but reliable all the same. I would agree that ferrari build quality is not what you would expect as we test drove a few for our wedding car buisiness. The 348 was not as good as my ztt and the 360 spider was sexy and sounded awsome but was a bit of a larry let down with its clunky gearbox and poor quality and shabby hood.It was honestly not a touch on the db9 we were using at the time. So nice, but its a aston for me one day when things pickup abit!!!alot!!! nothing like pulling up to the savoy hotel in london passing the keys to the conciege and the looks you get from all the pompus politcian looking twats giving you the evil eye as the porter collects you cases. Cant wait till the day i get one of my own, Will still keep my zed though!!!

Thats very nice did you do all the fabrication yourself for the v8? This is so tempting!! I really would like to do this but havnt got a clue how to go about centralising the block, mounts propshaft ect ect. How much you selling you spare sbc engine for?Is it a 350cu?

Z31 in Germany
Heres a few pics of mine looking abit sad! I prepped the body and painted it last summer, i colour sanded and mopped the rear end and roof it looks pretty good but the black was a bit browny in sunlight for my liking so i lost interest. The front is straight out of the gun. I will start to reprep the car soon ready for a pearl black.I have managed to get it very straight considering its age but there are a couple of imperfections i need to redo. As its running like poo i think i will get it running and sitting right before the repaint.Thats of course after i cleared out my discrace of a garage!

Z31 in Germany
Thanks guys for the tips.I havnt called mjp yet as ive just been googling! Trying to find as much info on the net as possible before starting the mechanical work.In the meantime i can continue prepping the body. I know the z31 isnt everyones cup of tea but i think i can get mine looking pretty nice with the right bits. The build on driftworks looks bada55 that low!

Z31 in Germany
Theres plenty of coil springs, spark plugs, brake discs, poly bushes and stuff like that for the z31, but ive been struggling with coilovers or decent shocks, stainless exhaust, engine rebuild kits, gaskets belts bearings ect. Had a look on mr.f (eastern auto). He has quite alot of sevicing stuff but not the main things i need. I do want to rebuild this car properly and really want to use new parts. Im Considering a engine swap for this reason. Any other advice would be of great help.If i can manage to start gathering all the parts in need for a rebuild on the zed motor, I can then book jimmer in to work his magic! otherwise its a bank loan (which i could do without)and down to zannetec motorsports in somerset for a v8 conversion!!

v8 engine for a 300zx
If your going for a v8 it may as well be a small block chevy or a nissan v8 qh45de? i think. There is a z32 on youtube somewhere with a nissan v8 with twin turbos, sounds awesome. Which ever way it will need loads of fabrication. There used to be a kit for 240z v8 conversions somewhere but ive seen nothing for z32s.Want to do something similar to my z31.
