Simply japanese 2016!!!
In fairness to you mate the speed change in the village (Cadnam) is really badly displayed, I know I've missed it a few times. Historically it was a 40 too, so the sat nav may not even ping it up. Just be glad you were caught in Hampshire though as its twice the fine in Dorset.

Simply japanese 2016!!!
Right, a slight change this year so pay attention haha. The show ground is now open for display vehicles from 8am via a separate entrance, this is located on the B3054 on the other side of the village. Sign posted "simply Japanese additional parking". We are required to be on site in position by 9.30am. We are required to display a vehicle club pass, I haven't got these yet myself but once I do they will be coming to you. Now this change may effect the convoy we've traditionally had from Tesco at Applemore because of timing. What I'm suggesting is that many of you won't want to get up and be ready to leave Tesco by 8-8.30. So that's a question, do we still want this? Maybe it will reduce its size. So I'm looking for feed back on this. Lastly an early warning, especially to first timers to the event and area. The New Forest is a national park, as such there's a lot of wide life and live stock. There's a blanket speed limit, pretty much, of 40mph which is enforced. Should a cow or a pony, which roam freely around the park walk out in front of you your responsible. That includes the animals treatment or euthanasia and reimbursement to its owner. So don't be a wally. End lecture. Further updates will be coming over the coming weeks and il try to get back to everyone's questions. It's promising to be a great day out in a great place.

Dead Zed :'(
Wonder what the actual fault is. Seems a bit weird really. What's the fluid like now you've arrived? Lost any? From what I understand your still in education. It's summer now though, maybe pick up some hours and even a minimum wage job you'd have that conversion paid for with your first pay check. The auto is a waste of your time, energy and resources mate.

Help needed. Coolant Issue
Originally you have spring clips, these can wear and loose the tension. So switching to a small jubilee is the way forward, you can then do it up with a quarter drive and various UJs or extensions to suit. The metal hard pipes are not unknown to fail, corrosion etc. Where exactly is it leaking? It's a real pain in the ass job.

What did you do to your zed today?
That's not new I'm afraid, my first years insurance was 2k on a similar turd. Fast and furious hadn't long come out and the Saxos, Corsas etc where covered in crazy neons and fibreglass. I never modified anything like that, just kinda hoped if I kept it bone stock someone might think I'm borrowing it from my gran  best not to draw attention to yourself really.

What did you do to your zed today?
I used to have a Corsa worth not much more, it was shit, like proper shit, the one up from the 3cyl one. Thing fell apart constantly but it never broke down, never cost me anything(I never fixed or maintained it) I drove around listening to a queen night at the opera cassette because it was jammed in there and the radio didn't work. It meant I didn't have to have to run the zed everyday and saved me a lot of heart ache. I think I still cheered the day I sold it. So 17 year old lad brought it under his dad's instructions for sensible. Me and the wife still laugh about that car now. My point is a work horse is just that, it's supposed to be cool or fun or even nice, just reliable and cheap.

Time to research Dan. http://www.aemelectronics.com/products/water-methanol-injection-systems/water-methanol-injection-kit-for-forced-induction-gasoline-engines

It's just a cheaper more convenient and possibly better way to boost octane and cool charge temps. Jimmy has the AEM kit I believe. I've been considering it myself. Pretty safe power bump

thoughts on underside?... (photos)
Looks pretty average. Under sealing is a real long winded dirty job. Cleaning and treating and applying new. Not something I enjoy. Front subframe looks a bit grotty, best investigate that.

What did you do to your zed today?
I think you've made that worse, it now appears you care about the damn thing. Personally I'd kick a dent in the door so it's clear to all I don't have a care in the world for it, no one will mess with you in traffic either, it'd be clear you go nothing to loose.

She'll get finished one day!..........
Hrm, agreed.

You might need to think carefully here Dan you need more E85 per volume to achieve the same effect. Your looking at AFRs under 9, to do this you need bigger injectors than if you were using petrol. Also you have to change components as E85 is highly corrosive I believe even the pump and lines. There's a lot to consider. I'm not talking it down as it's got great knock resistance and allows you to run way more boost. But in a country were it's not available on pump because it's not cost effective over petrol, when your buying it in cans your regularity of use compared to the cost input is gonna be poor. I'm not even sure with the 555s you even make more power as the injectors may hit max duty on E85 before you make a noticeable difference on your set up. Have you thought about water/meth injection?

Just £3.78 a litre. What size injectors you got Dan?

What did you do to your zed today?
I'd call it unpractical instead of terrible, if the road is a good one it's good and the car handles really well, so much more predictable, it's just the poor quality surfaces that are annoying in every car are vastly worse.

What did you do to your zed today?
It's fine on good roads, sadly we don't have many of those in this country. It's the little roads where the buses and lorries chew the road up that are annoying. The worst bit is patch repairs, when Nynex (remember them?) went around laying all that cable they left these bits of mis matched Tarmac, sometimes it cuts straight across the road, acting like a 1.5" deep and 8" wide reverse speed bump, these are the devil. Feel uncomfortable in the van, in the zed there horrendous and because they cut across the whole width you can't even dodge them. The main road by my house is dire, gravel lorries go up and down it all day. I'm actually planning to drop the spring rate, maybe even as low as you and Joel 6-4, as the Bilstiens I had before were plenty compliant with my other mods. The car tends to skid on poor surfaces which hurts acceleration.

Meh. Not gonna change now is it.

What did you do to your zed today?
I'm built out of inhuman components fortunately. You know what they say "If your gonna be dumb, you better be tough"

Sounds about right on a street car, 6-8 is a bit more track inspired and 10-12 like what I've got is erm, probably track only.

NA rear ends.
Cheers mate, that's what I was looking for. I didn't want to start enquiring before I'd made my mind up but obviously I need a ball park to asses whether I want to do it. I already have hicas delete etc but I like the idea of the weight loss and shorter ratio. Stock TT gears are long old gears.

NA rear ends.
Good lad Ash.

NA rear ends.
I'm not set on the idea 100% yet and as your closer Howard I'm happy to let you jump ahead in the que.
