  1. It's your car so you should go with what you want. Obviously you've been thinking about it for a while. By all means take a look at other examples and opinions but ultimately go with what you feel is 'you' and suits 'your' car. BTW i think a blue and black interior will look ace in a black car with blue interior accents. Spend as much as you can afford without stretching yourself financially. Just my opinion. And if and when you get it done you take a little longer to shut the door you know you got it right. HTH.
  2. Absolutely any advice/suggestions are welcome chaps. My limited knowledge but extensive use of the search button leads me to favour the RPS Sport Street at the moment. Anyone have any experience/reviews of this clutch?
  3. ^^^^^^^Thanks Guys. Much appreciated.
  4. Welcome from another local. I'm just outside Reading, in Twyford. I'll keep an eye out for you.
  5. There'll be no stopping you now. Oh hang on a minute........
  6. That sounds way too high!! I'm 34 have a TT import, 8 years ncb and pay about £580 fc with Sky Insurance. Worth a try mate, also try Adrian Flux who advertise on the site banner. Good luck, i'm sure you'll get it down.
  7. I have just been lucky enough to secure a manual conversion kit for my slicktop :gunsmilie: I now need to source a clutch to go with it (and someone to fit it), i will be looking to keep power pretty much standard for now  So i am hoping for some advice/recommendations as to which clutch i should go for? I have been advised to look for an uprated n/a clutch. Any advice is greatly appreciated as it's all beyond me. I just like the way it looks and how it goes!! Thanks in advance.
  8. I hope your sister and her fella are as well suited as your Zed and that castle. A match made in heaven i reckon. Looks great mate.
  9. Thanks Maz. That seems to be the one. Same style image of "burnout" on the exhaust. Most i'm finding are single or quads though. The one on mine is 110mm twin. Oh well it, sounds ok and polishes up nice, even if it is a tad OTT. That'll do for me for now. Thanks again bud.
  10. I'm insured with them on my Zed and my van. As you say always freindly, and helpful too. Been with them a few years now with no probs and really competitive prices.
  11. You have been busy. Good days work i'd say. Looking forward to more updates.
  12. I saw a manual shorty advertised on PH and it was only 10miles away so went to view/drive it. I HAVE to do the conversion. A totally different beast and exactly what i was expecting. And on another positive note made me realise how much i love my own car. It's far from perfect and needs money spending on it, but i'm slowly learning patience is a virtue! The slicktop is definately my fav version and mine is Cherry red too which i love. BUT.......a mint 2+2 advertised on here that is within my price range and looks absolutely mint. It's an auto, but could convert that?! Edging towards keeping mine, converting it and slowly doing all the other bits that need sorting, thus truly making it 'MY' car. I will endeavour to sort some pics out so you guys know what i'm waffling on about too
  13. The only identifying marks/names on my aftermarket jap import exhaust is "burnout"?! When I try a search the only info I find is of cars doing burnouts  Has anyone heard of this manufacturer? Thanks in advance.
  14. If practicality isn't an issue then how about a VX220? Should find a turbo for that sort of money. Wish i had the choice to make!
  15. Hi Richard, i see you're based in Missenden. I am currently working at Gateway school over that way. Drove my Zed to work today as it happens. I'll be working there for another couple of weeks. If you want a micro-meet and wouldn't mind casting a knowledgable eye over it that could be good. Let me know. David.
  16. Just replied bud.
  17. That sounds like a plan. I won't tell if you don't. Wherabouts in Nottingham? I'll fire it in the route planner and see if it's viable. Supposed to be at work but i can put that off for important stuff like this!!
  18. I think you've already found a buyer for it then. :cool3: I guess i knew all along i'd do it but always nice to get a bit of reassurance and encouragement. Cheers guys. I'll PM with regards to conversion kit.
  19. Good point, well made. You couldn't lend me 1500quid could you?
  20. Thanks guys. It's not all about just getting a return on my outlay, its knowing deep down that my car deserves a manual box and it would transform it, BUT.... It's just a bit scary spending another 1500/1600 on a 20 year old car. But i guess i wouldn't have bought it in the first place if i didn't think it was worth it. Is the manual conversion the next step you'd take? For that money i could get the coilovers fitted, sort out the rear bushes which are worn and have the stonechip removed and painted. Decisions, decisions......
  21. I know but that'll just be the start of it. Already convinced myself that the Group Buy coilovers are a "must have". Where will it end?!
  22. PICTURE ADDED I have a 91 slicktop. It's a tt Auto. Love the car but really want a manual. I've seen a couple of 2+2's on here that are manual and the right sort of money. Do I sell mine and go down that route? Or do i bite the bullet and do a manual conversion knowing i'll never recoup the outlay? Nothing against the 2+2's but personally i think the shorties are so much better proportioned. What do you reckon guys? Another pic post 26!
  23. I'm subscribed and i got a message saying i wasn't allowed to post? Looks good by the way Pete.
  24. Sound advice. And Si is right, shadow chrome would look spot on.
  25. Too right fella. 'It's nice to be nice' though. But i also get where you are coming from. I've been biting my tongue all week and am stressed to f**k because of it! Virtual pint? :duffer: Cheerz.
