  1. Member since February 2019? Wonder what their last account was banned for.
  2. So why did you flip your shit and insult me during the original discussion? Totally uncalled for, but I'm guessing your position within the club makes you immune to the rules.
  3. Been looking for a while now and all the stuff that has come up for sale has been absolute garbage. I haven't seen anything in the £20,000 plus range or anywhere near that, what has happened to the 300ZX?
  4. So in what way was the UK spec engine different?
  5. The 2JZ-GTE is 326bhp in the J-spec version, not sure why you added the bit in parentheses about the UK spec there. The A90 is around 1500kg, pretty much the same as the A80. So 0-60 in 4 seconds is complete horse shit. The maths don't lie.
  6. I believe the new A90 Supra is slightly more powerful than the A80 in its three litre option, however some of the performance claims (particularly the 0-60 times) seem to defy the laws of physics. I hear what you are saying about them generally building lame cars, as most manufacturers do. But the point is, when the 350Z debuted it was 2003, and I still honestly can't believe they couldn't improve (at least performance wise) on the Z32 that was designed in 1987. You can't fail like that by accident, it must have been deliberate. I think you are right however, the 350Z is a horrible car but I think the RX-8 takes the top spot as worst generation-update car.
  7. And yet once Nissan was taken over by Renault, they started producing absolutely shite cars. The 350Z is up there as one of the worst evolution's of any car in history. And just when you thought they couldn't insult Nissan any further, turns out the guy who was hailed as the saviour of the company is a fucking criminal. I would rather have seen Nissan disappear completely rather than see what it has become today.
  8. It's a bit like asking why did they bother making NA cars when there is a turbocharged variant, or why they offered an automatic gearbox if there was a manual. You could be there forever analysing inferior options.
  9. Does anyone have any recommendations for importing cars from Japan? Thanks!
  10. I have never heard of variable valve timing increasing power on any engine. I'm not sure if you are getting power and torque confused.
  11. How does variable valve timing increase power? Did they misquote you there?
  12. Low mileage good condition model as above. Thanks!
  13. If there was a tumble weed smiley on this forum I would be using it now!
  14. The later JDM models had completely different bumpers, side skirts and spoilers not available in any other region. As Jeff mentioned they had new lights and Recaro seats as an option not seen anywhere else. There were also many interior differences (gauge colours etc), and I believe the manual gearbox had some improvements. It's very difficult to find any information about the Japanese spec cars, particularly in the later years so there could be a lot of things we are missing.

  16. I must admit I have been looking for a while and I haven't seen anything that appeals to me as of yet; but I think I will be waiting a very long time to find what I want. I am not interested in UK spec cars, especially at £22,000 for a 1991 model! Unfortuantely it seems that the 300ZX has gone the same way as the Supra when it comes to UK models; despite being inferior to the JDM counterparts and generally in poorer condition people double the price simply because it is UK spec.
  17. I sold my 1996 twin turbo manual for about £2500 a few years ago, and I am looking to buy one again. I have around £25,000 as a budget, and I know JDM cars have gone through the roof in recent years price wise so just wondering if that will go very far? Thanks!
  18. Hi, I used to own a 300ZX about 6 or 7 years ago, and I am thinking about getting another one. Does anyone know if gazwoz still imports cars? Thanks!
  19. SOLD Not sure what happened to the old thread, so here it is again. It was for sale on PistonHeads but the ad has expired, I got no enquiries so I don't see the point in paying again to have it listed. I think the price was putting people off so open to offers. I bought a new car recently, so unfortunately the 300ZX must now go. 1996 TT LWB Manual. It has a '99 spec front bumper, but apart from that barely any mods whatsoever. Mileage is about 112,000 miles. Always run on Shell V-Power Nitro+. Couple of bad points: The paint on the rear bumper started to come off when it was being washed, ideally the rear bumper needs replacing. On the driver's side it looks as though the door has been shut when the seat belt was not inside the car. This is just a presumption as it was like this when I bought it. The detonation sensor has failed so Jeff has fitted a resistor. Slight cracking of paint on NS wheel arch. I used the car as my daily drive to work, so it hasn't been stood around for 90% of the year. If anyone is interested or would like to know anything specific let me know. 21. My dad has been away this last week so we've not had chance to really look at it, but I was driving this morning and after about 3 miles the temperature gauge started to climb really quickly past the centre so I stopped. I let it stand for about a minute then turned round and went home, but on the return journey the temperature was normal. I suppose now it's definitely something with the heater matrix, there was a lot of smoke in the cabin again when I was driving so there must be a leak somewhere.
  22. Yes the roof leaks a lot on both sides. The heater core split about 18 months ago and Jeff fixed everything, so I'd be surprised if there is a problem already, but I guess it's a possibility. Yes the vents used to clear windshield quite quickly, but now it doesn't do anything at all, if anything it's now making it worse. I have a No Fog Mitt which I'm using to clean the inside, but it was really bad when I was driving today. I turned on the windshield fan to try and clear the screen but some kind of smoke started to come into the car, so I turned the fans off and put the windows down for the rest of the journey. Thanks for all the suggestions I will try and find out what is happening!:detective:
  23. For about a year now I've had a problem with the windshield getting greasy when driving in temperatures below 15 celsius or so. It gets worse as the water temperature builds, I suspect that the engine coolant flowing through the heater core is evaporating because of the heat, then the fans are channeling it onto the windshield where it condenses on the colder glass creating a greasy film. Is it possible to completely shut off the fans under windshield? Even with the controls off completely I can still feel air flowing out of the windshield fans. I think another problem is that it's very damp inside the car, I keep some crystals in the passenger footwell all the time to try and absorb the moisture but it doesn't seem to work very well.
  24. Yes, a lot of them are modified, however the question I'm asking is do we really want those kind of people here? I have heard of NISMO, but as far as I know they didn't do any development work with the 300ZX.
  25. I don't know if I'm on my own here, but one of the main reasons I bought a 300ZX was because it remains free of all this tuning/modifying bullshit. This is not the type of thing we want to attract.
