  1. metal must be spotless Dan and steel that thick you need to turn the amps up a tad...looking a bit cold and not much penetration going on. Good flow though for a raw novice matey, what rods you using?? not the size which i persume are 2.5 but the coding at the end of box.
  2. Everything rots from the inside so allthough your going mental on the protection of this member its all in vain...get it welded in and put 2 cans of spray on grease inside the section and its going to last another 25 years. summers going to be over while your trying to stop it rotting:rofl::rofl::)
  3. Really...
  4. Ok it looks like its going to the next level as my reply must of hit a raw nerve so ile get down and dirty too...Ime welding most days with mig and tig so ime sure iff needed a new section could be made but it would,nt be with box section ffs...would you have a box section welded into your body and hoped all gussets and fixing points matched the OEM positions..no me neither. I would of thought a reply trying to sorce a "real" crossmember from a breaker and the method of removal and fitment would be better than trying to convince the OP to weld box sections into his car.Does this reply mean anything regarding this thread now??
  5. I dont think Lymon would talk garden chairs in potting sheds either buddy... But Ime sure you know of his dealings with Zeds anyway:wink: http://dta-motorsport.com/
  6. Yes at the very least pete...look at a blaster as a 100% total loss system and unless the pump keeps up demand OR you have a very very large tank then when its empty take a break:wink: plus you need an air fed mask for using sand as its like putting glass into your lungs. Iff its a one off part then give it to a blasting company or take it to a powder coaters and ask just for the cleaning service..its cheaper than buying a load of Chinese tat and struggling.
  7. Went to Sweden last weekend and ime still in shock even today at the fantastic and clean road network there...even the public toilets at the rest places were as clean and even cleaner than some hotel toilets ive seen here. This place is filthy and disgusting compared to those pics jeff.
  8. Not a good post to read Jeff..ime sorry for the loss bud:sad:
  9. It still beats B&Q garden furniture or drugs and dirty women though Danny so spend away before the undertaker is knocking on your front door...and that goes for the OP too.
  10. Love it...100% function over form and its raw and mechanical looking just as i like it. Its a zed that dares to be different without the usual seen it before nice paint and wide wheels brigade, 10/10:thumbup1:
  11. Ile firmly make sure i dont watch it again ever...massive anti-climax with presenters that are just too sterile and manufactured plus Evans gets right up my nose and has done since his very un-funny friday night risky television shows years ago.
  12. Ile have to get my TL1000 out for a workout...Ive just came back from a Kayaking trip to Sweden, only 4 days and that country is firmly on my to do list for a biking trip as the roads left me speechless there that good....great pics Dan:)
  13. Try and get a higher spending limit on your credit cards as your going to need em!!!:clown:
  14. Plenty of very nice rust free zeds around still...just on the other side of the planet:crying:
  15. Just make sure you dont get caught with a prositute in the mens toilets now... "son-in-law of town Mayor caught with a prositute"
  16. Wow thats going to be fun
  17. That Triple is crying out for a tail tidy Dan..just sold my Bandit and after riding my mates 2015 KTM super duke 1290 a few weeks ago ime on the hunt for a V twin, might get a TL1000r as a stop gap for the rest of this summer.
  18. For someone who has retired and living out the country you still like sparing and throwing uppercuts in i see...but there again with more time on your hands its a lot easier:D
  19. With fuel temps being a massive factor in this upgrade would it not be wise to insulate those lines under the bonnet to avoid heat sink from the motor...maybe coming in from the front of engine bay to avoid running them over the top of a very hot engine. Great read btw and a lot of interesting facts there Nick:)
  20. Dont use a petrol type iff your serious..they spit very small amounts of oil (2 stroke) out the exhaust and onto the car. Dont ask me how i know:blush:
  21. Blower drying is becoming a big thing in the bike world...i used to use the flash wash system with the filter hand gun but the filters went out of production so that ended..I found a guy on ebay who had nearly 1000 of them in his lock-up and i bought the lot,i made a fortune re-selling they were that good of a system for washing the car without drying spots.
  22. That does look a stunning Zed and untouched...my next Z32 (hopefully) will be as untouched as possible as i feel this is were the values are going in these cars..Anyway sorry to ramble and well done with the MOT.
  23. next time look harder and you will find grasshopper:chinese::D
