  1. Yep they are, snapped (or more acurately pulled apart) flush with the rear of the adjuster. Haven't got it off yet but you can clearly see it through the wheel and looks as though the threaded portion of the rod has literally been torn apart. Hopefully the pic link is below (not sure as not done that before) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13416&stc=1 Cheers for that Vijay, will give him a call.
  2. Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me where I can get replacement rose jointed tension rods as I managed to snap the drivers side one the other day. Also has anyone else suffered a similar failure with there's. Basically I came round a blind corner doing about 50 to find a line of standing traffic with the last car reversing backwards. Anyway slammed the anchors on reasonably hard to pull up, all going fine then an almighty bang and the car pulled hard to the right. Managed to stop ok without hitting anyone and pulled up to investigate what the noise was to find the arm snapped in 2 and a small amount of bodywork damage where the wheel had come back and hit the arch liner. I haven't curbed the car or to my knowledge caught anything with the rod; I have got ohlin coilovers set pretty low but the car just had a service (including swapping to this suspension set) and an MOT with no prob's. The rod's were on the car when I bought it about a year ago. Am at a loss to explain how this has failed, just hope it's a material weakness isolated to this rod rather than an inherent design fault :( I certainly wouldn't want this happening at speed, the break looks totally clean so doesn't look like it's been going for a while. Any help / advice would be much appreciated, Cheers K.
  3. Mine came yesterday - looks the dog's, cheers dude  K.
  4. Have a look into your import / export regs over there as you may be able to claim it was only on temporary import (very much depends on the wording of your original paperwork when first imported to Eire). In almost all countries you can temporarily import goods with no duty payable if they are not destined to stay in that country(Like demonstrators for shows etc). Also as this vehicle came in from the UK and your in Eire (both members of the EU) surely there is no duty payable (as long as the duty was payed in the UK!!!!). HTH K.
  5. Count me in too, whatever I can do to help!

Deffo be up for a meet in Chester - only 20 mins up the road :D Reckon mix would be good too.
  7. Just read this now, my god, words just aren't enough at a time like this. My heartfelt sympathy to you and your children Kenny, you will all be in my thoughts and prayers. Kev.
  8. Stillen in the States do these - they call it a 'Louvered Panel'. The link is below: http://www.stillen.com/Sportscars_detail.asp?cat=3&subcat=149&Brand=&id=362&page=3 HTH - K.
  9. Yeh but this is just a political think tanks blue sky thinking, political reality is a bit different. At the last election Labour managed to hold on to a fair few marginal seats in the affluent commuter belts by the skin of their teeth. These constituencies are the ones where people drive these kind of vehicles. The Labour Government is not going to do anything that will damage their standing in these areas, as if they did it's tantamount to political suicide come next election!!!! This will be another one of those think tank reports that will get some lip service and then disapear into the twilight IMHO. The biggest piss off in all of this is you and I are paying these no brain idiots to come up with this crap when they know full well it will just be ignored!!!
  10. One of the guys over at TT.Net has plotted multiple dyno results from Z's using various different aftermarket turbo's, and where enough dyno's are available has created an average dyno chart for that particular turbo - the JWT Sport 500 is included: http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=technical&msg_id=839668 It isn't a scientific result as he states himself but well worth a look to get a feel for each turbo's general characteristics. HTH
  11. Deffo the RX7 - was a close thing between the Z and an RX7 when I bought but I'd wanted a Z ever since they came out so went with the heart in the end :D
  12. If it's that one it was being sold by Keighley Trade Centre last year. They had it for ages, had a good look around it one day as I was up there looking at another motor and it looked an absolute **** up of a conversion job - might be worth giving them a shout and see who it was they sold it to?
  13. Yeh I've got a Jap import too and the stock gauge measures in millimeters of mercury (mm/hg) x 100. Mine has no boost upgrades but at full chat measures about 6.5 on the gauge x 100 gives 650 millimeters of mercury which = 12.56 psi (theoretically). The trouble is I cant see how a tiny gauge like that can really give an accurate reading at all, apart from a rough indication i.e no boost - half boost - full boost. Beyond that get an aftermarket gauge if you want to rely on it a bit more, but without a calibrated gauge with a mirror reading, capable of adjustment for altitude, temp and barometric pressure at time of reading it's never gonna be 100% accurate - we are talking about a difference of 3.5psi, shifting your head side to side can prob adjust your indicated reading on a stock gauge by + or - 1 psi alone ;) HTH
  14. If not too late can you put me down for one of these as well please, Cheers K.

  16. Ok - Widest point in the boot is 138.5cm and the length from the rear of the back seats to the back of the car is 93cm (Rear seats in upright position). The height of the rear seat from the boot floor (with the rear seats in the upright position and standard hardboard pieces in place under the carpet) is 20cm and the total length of the boot carpet with the rear seats dropped is 126cm (from the edge of the carpet attached to the seat back to the rear panel). HTH :)
  17. Oh yeh, had the pleasure of both  - N/A 1st, Central20 tuned, absolutely amazing car, loved it................... but it still aint a TT  Had no problems with the TT - faultless so far :nelson: so it never has needed a garage yet.... well apart from the garage that sells petrol  it will launch from the line boosting, and on song theres absolutely no lag between gears either(manual). Leaves the biggest of grins too. As to which is best - can't answer, both totally brilliant in their own environment but very different cars to drive, would love to try an N/A with TT power though :)
  18. Certainly looks like an original Tommy Kaira. They were only available in Japan if memory serves and run about 350hp as standard - very rare car  Try this link: http://www.neuralmotion.com/m30z/index.htm its the only site i've come across for this model :)
  19. Toooo right we do.........................SILVER :D
  20. Did a search on TT.Net about this clutch. No real info - nobody seems to have heard of them, but the general consensus seemed to be stick with the known brands - i.e JWT or RPS. TBH if they don't know the clutch or trust it over there best not to risk it either IMHO. HTH ;)

  22. Have a look at http://www.nissanperformancemag.com They fitted one of these kits to their project Z in Jan 2004 and have a write up on line (Under archived projects). Not the most informative article but will give you some info on the install and benefits. HTH
  23. Deffo up for this one - will be my first meet :hyper: B really good to meet up with some peeps who know these motors. C U all there :D . K
  24. "The Department of Transport and the ACPO guidelines state that policemen on the roadside must wear fluorescent jackets and be clearly visible, as must their patrol cars - this link explains what you should do if you spot a Traffic Officer hiding behind a bush and this link explains how some radar measurements may be inaccurate" This quote was taken from http://www.ukgatsos.com under the use of radar guns section - although they mainly deal with gatso camera's they have info on radar gun use and plenty of links to sites that will explain the use and law regarding radar guns. From the sound of it though the officer that stopped you was in an unmarked car and according to the quote above they must be in flourescent jackets and marked cars??? - well worth checking with a brief IMO!!! Hope it helps ;)
