  1. Twas sold through the infamous Keighley Trade Centre about 3 years ago. Think it was also the subject of a thread about 2 years ago when somebody from another forum was trying to hunt down the owner after some seriously bad driving resulting in killing a dog in the Warrington area.
  2. In the attached image you can see the starter bolted in to where you guessed it should go, and just to the right of that is the clutch slave cylinder. HTH
  3. On the aircon front read the attached HTH ;)
  4. Voted, and good luck :hyper:
  5. Come on we are doing the economies of the developed west a great favour. Look at it this way, first we produced raw materials, but then we ran out and what we had left, well you could get it cheaper elsewhere. So then we made things, but after a while you could get it cheaper elsewhere (mainly in China, even the hi tech stuff that the politicians reckoned the rest of the world wouldn't be able to do!!!) So then we all sat around and just sold everything to each other on the phone, the stuff everybody else either dug up or made elsewhere, until somebody thought it would be a good idea if that was done elsewhere too as it would probably be cheaper (India looked good  ). So now the politicians need to think up something else that we can do over here, otherwise people might get a bit miffed with them when they all lose their jobs and get bored with ebay  A ha, if we take a natural cycle like the planet warming and cooling and say it's a crisis (after all the plebs don't remember what we ripped them off with 2 years ago, so they won't spot this ;) ) it will mean that people buy less stuff from the places that make things (cause those countries are adding to the crisis) and that will mean their economies won't grow so quick!!! And if we develop our own RENEWABLE energy sources that means not so much money will go to the places that dig stuff up as well, meaning they won't grow so quickly, leaving us still top of the pile as the people who make this new RENEWABLE thing and save the planet ........ :hyper: So the moral of the story is that by driving the Z you do your little bit to help maintain the "crisis", ensuring that we stay top of the worlds economic tree and in the process keep all the other buggers down there by the roots
  6. Please read your history  , Kenya (ethnic Kikuyu during the Mau Mau rebellion in the 50's), South Africa (we invented the concentration camp during the Boer war!!!!), Native American Indians (scalp bounties under Cornwallis), Ireland (Potato famine, genocide through inaction) to name but a few...... You don't end up ruling half the world by being nice!!!! We aren't the 'Saints' you seem to think we are, and don't forget, we didn't invade Iraq because Saddam was commiting Genocide, we invaded because Tony said that there was WMD that could be used within 40 minutes even though the UN weapons inspectors couldn't find them and lo and behold neither could we after we went to have a look for ourselves. On top of this the ostensible reason this started was the war on terror, but lets ignore the bit where there was no proof that Iraq had any involvement in this either and by doing so we lost a huge amount of world support for something that may have made a difference :headvswal So if your happy with risking our troops lives so Bush junior can finish what Bush senior failed to do, and destabilise an entire region, ignoring everything we learned when we tried this form of meddling in the 20's, and ignore the fact that when you get right down to it we caused all this with the original setting up of Iraq after finishing the Ottoman Empire in the 1st world war and the subsequent setting up of Israel and ignoring, and tacitly supporting, their years of attrocities against the Palestinians, then all power to you :nelson:

  10. http://www.john-lyon.co.uk/index.htm This was the course Royal went on. Think I remember him highly recommending it at the time as it was in your own car and on normal roads.
  11. Have a read of the attached files, they should give you some idea of how complicated it is to get this right. ps. This isn't my work, just info i've picked up along the way!!! ;)
  12. As I don't have paypal I've sent my renewal fee via a cheque which went in the post today. Sorry I missed the exact renewal date but been snowed under recently. K
  13. Now I actually own a post office that issues car tax so it ain't hard for me to renew and to boot I get paid a very small fee for doing it!!!. Few years back, just as they brought in the rules about needing a log book to tax your car (previously a V10 tax application and a V62 vehicle log book application would do) I bought a car, full MOT and then insured it, but couldn't tax it cause the previous owner had lost the log book. Ok no prob's, sent off for a new one and after 4 weeks of waiting and still not having had it (using public transport through this period) and missing my bus for work one day, thought screw this and took the car (it was only missing another rip off tax after all), got caught by a car tax camera and fined for using a car on the road without tax and the road tax backdated to when I had bought the vehicle and applied for the log book they hadn't sent, but they still managed to send me the fine 2 weeks before the log book eventually turned up!!!! To be honest they do everything thay can to make it as difficult as possible to tax your car - for years a fax has been accepted as a legal document everywhere else, but DVLA rules state that over a Post Office counter we can only accept an original document (the damn things are only printed by the insurance company anyway, probably on some nobs bubble jet printer), so anyone with a typo on their doc's can't just get a fax sent over to my office to rectify the mistake, but has to wait for the Snail Mail to get it to you sometime next century!!! And don't automatically trust the online version either - one of my customers used it, the tax disc never showed (again through Royal Snail) and they had to pay to get a replacement on a lost or stolen tax disc notification form, and on top of that couldn't use the car till the new one came as it's also an offence to have a car on the road without a valid tax disc on display!!!! The whole system is a waste of space - rant over ;)

At age 77 a truly fanatic fan of your spoken word works will stalk you and torture you for a period of weeks. After refusing to sign any more autographs, the fan will kill you.

Yep was truly dangerous and ended up with Henri getting killed and the RS200 flying off into the crowds which sounded the death bell for the Group B cars  The problem wasn't the cars, it was the damn crowd control, although Henri did state that after the first time he took the Delta S4 out on the RAC rally that he didn't know exactly how he had managed to keep the thing on the road as it was more luck than skill. I only wish I had 20k spare..................would truly be a dream come true!!

Have actually met Michelle Mouton briefly - only woman to win an international rally. Me and a mate used to be members of the Quattro club and got invited to the RAC Rally's 50th anniversary dinner in 1994 and she was there along with hosts of others, even managed to get her signature on the menu, along with Stig Blomquist's and Bjorn Waldegard and a few others. But out of all of them Walter was simply a genius, have got a video of him driving portugal in a shorty, absolutely flat out, and all you can see is about 10 mtrs of road ahead as the crowds part in front of the car. Looks as though he is dancing with his foot work on the pedals

Never been in the road version of the shorty but been a passenger in a rally version, absolutely awesome. Remember years ago going to a hill climb and this guy turned up with an original rally shorty on a trailer for the event and was towing it with a green road version  was stunned!!! There used to be a place in Royal Leamington Spa we used to go to that had about 3 rally versions including a pikes peak one and a couple of rally stratos's too. He used to have all the moulds for the bonnets and wings, we've still got one of the bonnets on an old 80 sport. Absolutely loved all the old Group B rally stuff - Quattro, T16, Delta S4, 6R4 and yeh the UR Quattro's, short and long, are still a great car even after 26 years!!!!

Now is that stunning or what - still remember those blasting through the N.Wales woods - made standing around in the rain soooooooo worth while  Have played around with so many UR Quattros over the years and a mates just rebuilt an original, very early, long wheel base homologation version as an exact replica of the first rally versions. Do you remember the Pikes Peak Version? incredible car  could go on all day about them
  22. Yeh but the only Shell station near you is a motorway services. Was down in Bridgewater at the weekend and that was the only Shell station I could find and the price was a shocker as its 101.9 up here!!!! I'm running a JDM with a mines ecu and the difference between V-Power and Optimax is significant, mainly in the area of initial response to the throttle - overall well impressed, cheers Shell ;)
  23. Tragic news - Rest in Peace
  24. Just filled up with this last night. It's the same price as Optimax was as it replaces this. First impressions are that it does what it says on the tin, seems to give the car extra responsiveness and a touch more power  so at the moment I'm well happy with it. Would be interersting to hear other members experiences just to be sure I'm not experiencing a placebo effect though!!!!
