  1. Thanks mate, I'll try them :p
  2. Hey guys! Does any of you know of anywhere that sells and fits Cat 1 alarms in Swindon / Reading areas??????? Looking at picking a Zed up tomorrow but it needs a Cat 1 for the bloody insurance, arrrgh! Thanks
  3. Sorry Mantav8, only saw this now. The car is in Maldon near Chelmsford. Little bit of rust and the boost gauge doesnt work. Otherwise its in good nick. On Autotrader at the mo for £4875
  4. Thanks Jack! I might have to take you up on that! Andy P - The rust isnt that great. Not on the actual mounts, about 100mm away. Majority of it was surface only. I'll have a proper look if I decide to buy it. Thanks for the help guys Ya5een - I've got a quote with Hyperformance for £1100 TPFT on a UK TT. £1400 for a Jap
  5. Cheers Pete, I'll have a go at it! Ya5een, your car is too modded mate, sorry! BTW who are you insured with???????????
  6. Suppose I can just read the instructions, duh!! :slap:
  7. Thaknks guys, I'll try it! Easy enough to fit is it??
  8. Only if its a UK TT, no mods for £5000!!! CAnt afford the ins otherwise! Theres not much rust TBH, I'm able to remove and treat it. Only worried bout the boost. Looking at a UK TT on Saturday. Would the diagnostic test show any probs????
  9. Me again! Just been to look at a Jap TT '92 auto. The boost gauge doesnt work. Flicks to the left when the ignition is turned on then with the engines running needle moves to the right then remains there. Is it just a loose connection or a big expensive prob. Its th standard gauge. Other wise, apart from some rust in the engine bay where the suspension is bolted and in the boot near the spare wheel. £4875 for the car, YEAH :hyper: or NAY :nono: Cheers guys
  10. Cheers guys I'm not keen on using the web sites cos they're often higher. And the fact that I'm sick en tired of putting my details in! I'll ring Elephant in the morning and tell ya if I have any luck. I just wanna get the ins out the way so I can buy the damn car! :hyper:
  11. WOW!! I'll give them a ring!!! Ins is putting me off buying a Zed! Might just have to go the TPFT route.... Must be careful though!
  12. Cheers mate, I'll have a look!
  13. Hey guys I'm going to look at a Jap TT tomorrow. Where must I look to see if the autobox cooler is fitted? Is it easily visible?? Thanks
  14. £1800 fully comp for an unmodded UK TT auto '94, what a bloody rip off!!! :( :( Cheapest I got though so I reckon I just bite the bullet and get it! TPFT has been crossing my mind.... any sugestions guys?
  15. I dont own a Z yet but am looking for insurance. From Adrian Flux I've been quoted £1233 for Nico's Z in the For Sale section. I'm going for the unmodded option as hopefully the ins will cost less.
  16. Houghtons told me they wouldnt insure me cos I'm under 25!! Could it have anything to do with the car being chipped tho? I'm 22 with 2 ncb and also struggling. CBR, have you tried Adrain Flux 08700777888. They're the best ive found
  17. So there'll be no problems even if the intake and exhaust systems have been altered? ie. running too lean or rich???
  18. Hi guys Is it possible to fit the original chip back into a car thats got an aftermarket chip installed?? If so, where can I get hold of one? I'm REALLY struggling to get insured with an aftermarket chip fitted. 22 yr old with 2 ncb, fooking difficult! Thanks

I'm also trying to insure a Z, not easy, especially as its Steve-o's!!!
  20. Hey, as most of you probably know, I'm looking for a Zed. Are there any meets around the Ipswich area??? I stay in Reading at the weekends so are there any on Saturdays or Sundays. it'll give me the chance to have a good nose round the car before I buy one Cheers guys
  21. Yeah, I know what you guys mean. Being an Aircraft Tech and knowing what looks bad on a component (I sign to say helicopters are fit to fly) is all good, but like you say, I'll need a Zed expert  to tell me what to listen and feel for as this all comes with experience. Its a pity the heaps of 5hit bring the good ones down with them. Before I do buy my first zed, early next year I'll have a good read of this site but is there anything blatentlyh obvious I should look, listen, feel for. Much appreciated Andrew
  22. Hey Guys, I'm still looking for my first Zed but am comfused about why the many cars in Autotrader and this site arent selling?! Especially at those great prices! If I had the money I'd get one immediatly. Is it cos its such an underated car and not many people know about them or are there hidden problems? I've always wanted one but I dont want to be dissapointed when I eventually get it. As they say, 'never meet your heros'..... Cheers Future Zed owner :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
  23. Hey Guys I've been readind thru some reviews on the Zed and some of the threads here and HICAS has been mentioned. Something about being 'enabled on my car'. I think it's the 4 wheel steering thingamajig. Can someone please explain what it is and is it standard on all turbos, UK and imports. I'm still looking to buy one, or should I say, I'm DEFINITLY buyuing one, just need to sell my current car....... R reg Renault Megane 1.6e Sport???????!! :hyper: Thanks!
