  1. Oil and o-rings are fine together. You should always lube your (O) ring  with the system fluid, ie hydraulic fluid or oil. Its comman practice on aircraft so its gotto be fine on our fine cars!
  2. Is the switch the same as little micro switch that turns on the handbrake light? Under the centre console?
  3. Yip, I did mine at the weekend and its sorted it. There are also some fuel pipes under the plastic cover on the engine, if ya havent tried them!
  4. I couldnt tell the difference either! Is it on auto's too?
  5. I've read neary all the threads on the Zed's headlights. My question is where is the dipped beam supposed to shine???? Mine only shines about 10 foot in front, mainly on the left side. Is it supposed to be like this? I know the bulbs arent all that but even when I do upgrade the bulbs, they still wont shine in the right place! Maybe something to do with the 'auto leveling'??? Thanks in advance Andrew
  6. Cheers mate, I'll tell you how I get on!
  7. Thanks for that, just what I thought! I'll get the multimeter out again tomorrow!
  8. Does anyone know where I cxan get a wiring diagram fopr the dash electrical system? I'm looking for a constant 12v feed from the battery as when I turn the ignition off EVERYTHING in the cockpit goes dead and loses memory ie radio and climate control. I've taken a wire from the batt through the window to test it, everything seems to be on a parallel circuit. Is it possible to connect a supply to one device, ie radio to make everything work or must I connect everything seperatly to stop it drawing too much current?? Hope I've made sense! On night shift this week so I've got ALL day to tinker, yeah :hyper: Thanks Andrew
  9. Just subscribed!!!!!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
  10. Hey there Just paid my £20 fee. So when do I become a member? How do I prove to Adrian Flux that I'm a club member? Thanks Andrew
  11. For my insurance I must be part of the 300zx club. Does being a member of this club count??? If it doesnt, where is the 'official' club? BTW I'm still becoming a member of this one!!!!
  12. F&£*ing sick isnt it!
  13. I'll have a look at the idle speed. Oil was changed recently but when I get hold of some axle stands I'll do a change myself. Tranny??? Would that be the auto box or the rear diff?! What do you mean by EF & EC ??? Noticed some leaky fuel pipes so I'm gonna fix that 2night Thanks for your advice
  14. Apache - Yeah, that'll be cool! I'm in 4 Regt Workshops, working on the Mk 7's Paul C - Abv = abreviation! I think thats how you spell it!

  16. Cheers mate! Just took my buddy out in the car out on the airfield, WOW! Quite a tail happy beast isnt it! :hyper: Just did my first do-nut, bags of fun... Now for some new tires... Cheers for the TLA Three Letter Abv.
  17. Where from mate??? What does IIRC mean??? Getting used to all the abv. on the forum!
  18. Me again! Soz for all the questions but you guys are so helpfull! In the lumbar support of the drivers seat there is a big hole in the leather where it's been worn from getting in and out. Is it possible to replace the leather on the lumbar support only or must the whole seat be redone?? Any ideas or links to old threads would be great, thanks! Andrew
  19. Thanks for that, Zevans and Daves_new_ZX Gonna try and sort out the radio tonite and I'll take note of the idle speed. Oh yeah, is that 750rpm when it hot? BTW it an auto. Cheers
  20. Thanks! Gonna do that diagnostic thingy and look for a Zed specialist this weekend. It is an after market radio so it most probably is just wired incorrectly. Oh yeah, the clock also resets itself...?
  21. Hello everyone. As some of you already know, I bought a '94 UK Auto TT on Saturday. :hyper: :hyper: I've got some questions which I'll put here and then do a search on all the subjects. But if you have any quick fix answers, they'll be greatly appreciated, ie. 'Its supposed to be like that!' :slap: 1. Headlights are tonk 2. Filling up is painfully slow. ( V regular Shell customer already LOL ) 3. Climate Control is possesed! 4. Every time I turn the ignition off EVERYTHING turns off and rests. Radio doesnt seem to be wired to the battery directy. Loses all the stored settings, v. annoying! More seriously... There is a slight knocking coming from the heads at idle. When I increase the revs it goes away. Could it be the oil in the hydraulic lifters???? At idle the exhaust gasses coming from the right side exhaust feel smooth and constant. However, from the left side it feels like its puffing. Decompression problems??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Andrew
  22. Cheers guys!! Gonna get the polish out then the pix will be up! :hyper:  :hyper:
