  1. I installed the HID kit supplied by the Zed Centre and they work a treat. They are 6K have gone though the MOT fine but more importantly made a massive difference when driving...I can actually see! If they were ever queried I would certainly put my argument forward on grounds of safety...drive a Zed with standard bulbs vs a Zed with HID...it's a no brainer! Best of luck and enjoy your Christmas present.
  2. What a day for you, glad you are home safe. I am due to be in Edinburgh from next Sunday until the following Friday...I will keep an eye on the airport, I understand nothing is landing or taking off at present, you must have it bad up there.
  3. Managed to go out in mine today for the first time in 10 days...I know 10 days won't seem a long time to some of you, but to me if I am not driving it every day I start to get cravings. Had to take a round trip down to Aylesbury, crisp cold morning getting lots of dense air into the engine...fanatastic trip and like having an extra turbo! God I have missed it! Sorry, got a bit carried away there...to answer the original question...no I don't take the Zed out in the snow.
  4. Good work Sir and a stunning looking Zed you have there.
  5. Not for me, but very unique. I would be very interested to know what it sold for.
  6. My name is Andrew and I am a Zedaholic...
  7. Mine used to sit at about 1/3 of the way across but since JeffTT fixed my vacuum leak, it now sits at -7
  8. 44, first Zed after years of driving company cars, always wanted one since I first saw them in 1990. I was working for Ford at the time, so owning a super fast Nissan would not have been too well recieved!
  9. Many happy returns Sir! What on earth do you get the Zed owner who has everything for their birthday?!? Have a great day.:sorcerer:
  10. Once you have owned a Zed, you can never leave! Pausing for a few years maybe...but you can never leave! Ever! Welcome, it's great to have another Zed back on the road, enjoy.
  11. andyzx is right, if you can adapt or make room for some larger, round units you will get a better sound...having said that..I haven't! I replaced my stock front at rears with the latest JBL's. With all four matching, the sound has a nice balance and of course no need to carve anything up. If you are after ground thumping bass, these will not work for you, but if you are simply looking to upgrade what is in a stock Zed they give them a go. The JBL's I used for the front are GTO628 ...and the JBL's I used for the rear are GTO6428 Hope this helps.
  12. In summary then...all good experiences and one pending a satisfactory outcome (ZX-TT). Let's see what happens..if we end up with a club discount then this could be a really valuable service for lots of people on here...(including me!)
  13. Have you got a photo of the bulb you are after? Did you bring it with you?:whistling::lol::lol::lol:
  14. Maybe if he becomes on official trader on here, you may get your friends alloys sorted quicker. Here's hoping...
  15. I have contacted DP Motorsport and Douglas is going to take a look at our club site over the weekend. He was very grateful for the feedback and may do something for us...watch this space!
  16. I've seen this company who offer grounding kits for loads of different cars (including Z32's) and wondered if anyone has experimented with improving their vehicle earthing? I know in the electronics world, earthing components correctly has a massive impact on the overall performance of the circuits and I am interested to know if anyone has tried this on their Zed and if there was any significant difference? The link is http://www.groundingkits.co.uk/ After reading the blurb, click on "products" and scroll down to see the link for the Z32 kit...
  17. If you continue to get no joy from the dealer, you can always call Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Centre on 0845 841 1111. As it was a new car you were looking to buy, they will be interested in how the dealer is representing their brand (i.e. not very well!). Dealers are independent of the manufacturer and have an obligation to uphold the values of the brand because it forms part of their Franchise Agreement. When this ethos is not supported by the dealer network, often the manufacturer will get involved very quickly. Hope this helps you get your deposit back in a hassle free way so you and your wife will be on speaking terms again!
  18. Best of luck Sir, I hope you get your money back now.
  19. Cool. Now this next bit is my "informed" opinion, NOT legal advice (I am not qualified to do that!). The piece of paper you have does constitute a "contract" for the supply of that particular Auto Fiesta. The most important bit is that it makes reference to the chassis number. Even though you have pulled out of the deal, they are also unable to fulfil their obligations (because they have sold the Auto Fiesta to someone else). This means that they need to return every party to their original financial position before the deal was agreed. This includes giving your deposit back. Put this to the dealer and if you would prefer to PM me for any further help, feel free.
  20. I agree Sir! (Big Jim) well said. I had a chap say to me a while ago about the number plate I have on my Zed. He thought the car was new and couldn't understand why it has a "K" plate on it. I have lost count of the number of times people have asked what it is and commented on how modern it looks etc. This will have an impact on market value albeit over the next few years.
  21. OK. In that case, have you signed anything at the dealership that relates to the purchase of that particular Auto Fiesta?
  22. I used to work for Ford (the manufacturer) many years ago and one of the jobs I had was on the dealer finance side, Ford Credit. There are a couple of things that I need to understand before giving my opinion... The first is...are you still intending to buy the car or has the deal with the Fiesta completely fallen through? On any of the documentation the dealer gave you when you paid the deposit, did it say when the final balance/deposit had to be paid by? Were you buying the fiesta on finance or paying cash? If on finance, have you signed the finance agreement yet?
  23. Welcome to the club...your 300zx will teach you more about heart pounding fun, patience, excitement and disappointment that any other car...and it is so worth the journey! Oh...and get yourself a magnet on a string...you will need it at some point.
  24. If there are only 1200 or so actually on the road, IMO it should be £20K for a poor example! I tell you, prices will rise...as long as we don't keep talking them down!
  25. A chicken and ham toastie for me please!
