  1. bloody hell that is cheap, what power are they putting out, want to keep it roughly the same as what a stock tt is. though V8 with decat ooooh getting a stiffy just thinking about that sound.
  2. more pics, i love kit cars, is this the MR2 based one? I really want to do a lambo murcielago, but i have kids so thats out the window until they get to around 16 then they are getting kicked out lol
  3. well seems every time i vest an interest in a zed, it gets sold, so looking at other things i could possibly do lol
  4. thanks bud, realistically i think its just a pipe dream for me, but you never know lol
  5. I suppose a good start would be reading up on whats involved, no way it can be as simple as just dropping it in, id imaging engine mounts would have to be made, possibly body work to get it to fit, gearbox fitting, engine loom wiring. custom made coolant / intake piping.
  6. never seen a Infiniti Q45 for sale in the UK, where the hell would you get a VH45de from?
  7. i was speaking to some of the dag lasts at pod who use the big block V8's, watching them strip them down in the padocks for a rebuild there and then, made it look so easy lol
  8. never know, by the time i get this insurance payout for my car, it might well be even more of a classic engine than it is at the moment lol
  9. http://www.britishamericanengines.co.uk/chevy_prices.asp hmmmmm
  10. bloody quick as well when you start modifying them
  11. ok come on then, as per title, whats the best v8 to stick in a zed, im thinking more the LS1 from the old corvette, shame no one sells the bloody engine in the UK, would love to do that, it sounds awesome, and apart from it having corvette all over it, looks fantastic as well
  12. my after market oil pressure gauge, from cold start would shoot to around 100, then drop down as the temp increases, would sit around 20 in the gauge unless you accelerate then it would climb to 60 until you lifted off the throttle. then it would settle back down to 20. shall be stripping that bugger off the engine once i get my new zed as it always seemed to be accurate.
  13. on me own this year bud, mrs is having the kids for the weekend i get the car show lol
  14. boo, oh well ill have to go down on me tod then.
  15. Its ok im looking forward to the sweetys and the puppys  - - - Updated - - - sleep on the way down, ill wake you when we get there, you can do the tunnel run and if you want, sleep on the way back. lol
  16. can do mate, insured as long as i have your permission. you sure you going to be ok even sitting beside me if im driving your zed? ill take care of her.
  17. friday night? hell ill come down in daz's if he lets me lol
  18. rear bumper is easy, take the interior panels off from the inside of the car, there is a series of 10mm nuts, and 4 bolts (2 at each side) inside, then there is a screw on the rear out side closest to the wheel arch, also dont forget the plastic binding lugs under the car that hold the bumper to the crash panel (get down on your back and slide under the rear you will see what i mean) Unplug the number plate lights from inside the car and feed them through the hole to out side the car. Front bumper is a bit more difficult, undo the side lights will give you access to the 2 x bolts that hold the bumper to the front wing, undo the nose panel and remove 4 x bolds holding the front bumper to the nose of the car, there is also a screw at each corner near the wheel arch, same as on rear that holds it on, if you have the j spec number plate holder on the front that will also need unbolting to free the bumper.
  19. Cruise control only works above 40mph, also make sure its plugged in inside the engine bay (just follow the cable back from the throttle cover to a large domed type object) Sounds stupid but have you tried pushing the stalk both ways, one way it flashes the lights, the other it puts them on permanently. For the washer, id check the fuse.
  20. happy birthday bud. hope you have a good one matey.
  21. Ive used a 2 ton rated tow rope before, or you could use chains.
  22. just remember Minimum 143psi max 184psi with no more than 14psi difference between cylinders. That does look a lot of smoke though, similar to my zed with the blown head gasket, stupid thing is with how the engine runs you would be forgiven for thinking it was something else as its lumpy once running, only on start up?
