  1. That will explain it then, tis china's nuclear waste clearance project in full swing lol
  2. Taking the headlights apart and putting them back together really isn't that much of a ball ache, it seems daunting but really easy to be perfectly honest. Just take the headlight off the car, take all the metal brackets of it apart from the ones under it (for the bolt and studs to fix it to the car) 5 metal clips on each headlight (be careful with these not to chip the glass) and the rubber breather pipes then either bung it in a 200 degrees oven for around 5 to 10 mins (you have to check constantly, you don't want it to melt in the oven) and using a very large knife, put that between the plastic and glass and twist. if the glue is supple enough the glass will start to lift. once its on its way just use a oven glove to take the glass off. Or Get a 2KW heater, stick it on its highest heat setting and go around the edges of the glass until you can lift the glass clear. putting it back together is even easier, 3 G clamps with some wood so as not to damage the glass or with rubber ends on them, heat the rear of the headlight housing until the glue is supple enough, put the glass in and hand press it together. clip it with the metal clips that hold the glass normally, then place 2 G clamps about 5 inches apart from each other along the top bit of glass, then heat the sides and do the same using the clip from when you took the glass out. On the front the plastic naturally hangs away from the glass, heat that up along with the glue. then hand press them together G clamp and 2 clips and then with the clamps and clips in place. go around the glass again to heat it up, then leave to cool, reattach the metal plates and the breather tubes and your all done
  3. you slow git lol Yours were the brighter out of you and groovers i know that. not sure about Artztogos was close. but yours seemed well bright.
  4. Well that looks an environmentally friendly way of doing it
  5. Not sure what DazVert is running, but i remember at JAE he bloody blinded me with them when he turned them on, very bright something i really need to do to mine tbh.
  6. Do one black and one silver, put the glass back on temporarily and mount them loosely on the car, then see what one suits it better.
  7. Try Quoteline direct AA (they also do classic car policies but haven't tried that yet) Carol Nash (bike insurance but also classic car) Lynbrook
  8. 35w ? my standard H3 bulb i pulled from my car yesterday is 55w and that's crap for lighting the way. that might be your problem, i thought these cars needed 55w
  9. Bright yellow..... I think the black on a silver car would just darken them too much, silver would be a better choice, or were you thinking about chrome?
  10. its 12mm socked all the way around the headlight bud, not sure what bolt your having trouble with, but the one im on about is no where near your wheel lol If you remove the headlight center panel they are the two back bolts accessible from in behind your air filter one on the left at the back and one on the right at the back, using ratchet swivel head spanners and a socket adapter i managed to get on the drivers side headlight bolt, only to snap the bloody thing off. The passenger side was the worst though, because although it looks like the same clearance i just couldn't get the spanner on the nut. in the end i came from below and using a bit of force managed to move the hard air intake pipe enough to get my extension on the bolt with a 12mm socket to the bolt in question. then using a 15" breaker bar got it to shift. My advice, use plenty of WD40 on the bolts and let them soak for around 4 to 5 hours have a cup of tea, sandwich and watch CSI, then try it again. If your recirc valves come off (mine refused too) then you will gain the space required to get at them from underneath
  11. get the jap spec settings, explain it to them that its still pulling to the left and ask them to see if the jap spec match up to the UK spec. so far you have paid for tracking and they even admit they didnt have the correct settings.
  12. Grats mate. cant wait for the photos
  13. have fun, I'm currently selling a universal ball and chain remover...... All the best matey.
  14. Id get the tracking figures then take it somewhere else personally, some people seem to have no pride in there work and just stand under the car tapping suspension parts with a spanner to make it look like they are doing it. seen this done a few times at kwik fit.
  15. follow the AIV pipe work into the wing. then either run it through into the passenger foot well using the whole for the Targa drain (be careful not to disturb the pipe from the target connected to the drain point) then run the cable from the passenger foot well to where you need to be. the wing will need to be removed though to gain access unless you can do it with the wing on (just harder and more time consuming). That's how i would do it, but I'm sure there is another way as my alarm system runs through the firewall into the engine bay, just haven't really had a look how they have done it.
  16. sorted kinda, bad earth blew the drivers side headlight bulb lol, so will have to wait till morning to check again once i get a new one. sorted the earth out though so managed to get both side lights working, just left the blinking camera in the zed, ill go get it and upload the pictures, it looks well smart with the halos, but damn there bright  ok scratch the pictures in the dark, they just come out looking like HID's lol
  17. he didn't want it to start with, must of thought better of it. naa getting a nice 89spec rear spoiler so my rear end doesn't look rusty any more.
  18. ok this is strange, went down, plugged the drivers side headlight in first, then started bridging the pins, drivers side headlight came on with the halo, looked fooking fantastic, so decided to try the passenger side as well, plugged that in, bridged the pins again, now my drivers side headlight is dead unless its on full beam, On the passenger side, the headlight works with the halo but when you switch full beam on, i lose everything on the passenger side. So drivers side doesn't work unless on full beam (but only get the full beam light on) Passenger side works unless i put full beam on, then i lose everything  ive checked the fuses none blown was going to check the relays but for some reason my RH side relay is black, and the LH side relay is brown, both with different codes? now i cant remember them being different? aah crap what have i done lol Think its something to do with the voltage difference between using LED's vs Bulbs?
  19. nope haven't sorted the adjusters yet, one of the reasons i haven't bolted them back in yet, not only that got a bit of time to do that before my front bumper comes back, but ill let that bit be a surprise for people. Right going to go check see if they are working or not.
  20. i love that engine bay color combo looks the nuts
  21. lol yeah i found one after i had finished spraying them.. oh well Mrs thought i was waring nail vanish this morning cheeky git. Im pleased with how the LED's look in there, didn't think they would suit the light, but once mounted and in, they look very good. just hope they work ok or im going to have to take the headlight apart and find out whats going on.
  22. woot head lights back on the car, just cant check them now till groover sends my pods back lol should of waited to do it, but they look fecking good with the Len's housing silver.
  23. Lol ive just stuck a thread up about the adjusters on the back in the wanted section, two of the plastic gears were snapped when i took the housing off, so if i need to adjust the left right movement im screwed at the moment. Just fitted my Halos, got some LED ones off of groover apart from having to extend the wire so they come out the back rather than having to drill holes in my housing, they are 70mm units so fit around the len's rather than around the out side housing. i was a bit dubious to start with, but now they are in they look quite good. just hope they look as good when wired up and on lol. cant really see the Halos on the passenger side, but can on the drivers side.
  24. i really wish that was a write up for the drivers side turbo lol But well done on what seems impossible.
  25. lol once we finish yours want to start on mine ;) But on a more serious note, yours in a lot better position than mine, Ive got parts of my car all across the country, i think some of my car parts are even taking a trip to disneyland Paris with groover  At least yours looks like its getting done, mine just looks like its slowly falling apart with everything ive been taking off it recently to sort out. I too have had the "that's it I've had enough" moment, but i have to keep reminding my self that its all going to be worth it later once its done, i even have people asking me "is it finished yet?", and i would love to tell them yes, but to be honest although its a slow process, i find taking my time with it and not rushing it, is the better option, id rather take my time and get it right than rush it and bugger it up. just wish some of my nuts where not so stiff lol
