Transmission advice..
i have a spare center bearing in good condition, just needs to come off the prop shaft, but need a press for that apparently. there was no vibration from it when it was on the car. just letting you know one is available. engine oil is a good brand semi synthetic 10/40 If you change the tranny oil, check for metal shards (handy with a old speaker magnet dragged through the old oil and check it that way, as metal bits in the oil could be a sign of impending doom.

Daz where are you?
before thursday for the MOT, i cant see much meat on the ones that are on it. and I'm sure although it will pass the break test. that there just isn't enough pad left for them to pass it on that. dead sure they look too see how much pad is left during the MOT. though i could be wrong lol

Daz where are you?
Yeah changed the front pads, was lucky as the drivers side was almost down to grinding the disk. tell you one thing though, dunno what pads where on my breaker but almost put my self through the bloody windscreen when testing it lol Just need to get some rear brake pads as well now.
-
Daz where are you?
aah, that would result in the light coming on when the brake pads are low as it has to put more fluid in the system to press the caliper pistons closer to the disks. Hmm might be an idea to put the bulb back in now ive changed the front pads lol

Daz where are you?
right, so its the break warning light that's lit? eh? could this be caused by low brake pads? didn't think the zed had low level warning system. Or is it a dodgy ABS sensor?
-
Daz where are you?
I seem to remember you being the one with the pictures of the dash warning light lay out for both the S1 and S2. and if so can you post um up please, need to find out what bulb ive unplugged and why its lit lol

Seat Covers
leatherette for the interior panels is fine, its when you go for the seats it becomes a problem, due to the fact leather has a far better ware tolerance than the thin leatherette.

Haynes manual???
Haynes = The complete strip down and rebuild of your car, except if you need to change a rear quarter window on a mk2 golf GTI, then it simply states *Please get a specialist window repair technician to replace the glass* Instead of saying, peal back the window guide rubber, undo screws 1 / 2 and 3 and pull out to the left.

Salavage UK twin turbo Z
From the looks of it, I'd hazard a guess it's slid in to a tree given the bark on the passenger side wheel/wing and the nice circuler impact on the door - the tree won.

supra
we always like to believe that our zeds are the best thing since sliced bread (and they are), but if yours is a twinturbo, it should pounce all over his supra. Not only that, supra's hold there value thanks to hollywood, if the 300zx had been featured in as many films as the supra had, I'm sure ours would hold there value as well. Give it time, ours will eventually go up in price, once baz has scrapped enough of them

Annoying insurance companies
They wanted to go through the insurance company, but i said no, i had the funds and just wanted the glass replaced and they come up with that figure. i was like :confused1: you have got to be kidding, id already been quoted £250 from somewhere else. I got the blue one for £215 all in eventually and they came and fitted it.

Annoying insurance companies
Doesn't help when you have places like Autoglass charging £800 for the blue glass (that's the price they quoted me) and £400 of that price was for the side trim? needless to say i went else where when i got the windscreen replaced. Annoyingly that windscreen is still on my black zed, having seen just 26 road miles and unless i can get it off in one piece to sell, its going to the scrap yard with the rest of the car. But yeah, hold out for the bronze one, They should be paying for the correct part, just because its a bit of glass, doesn't mean they should skimp on doing the correct thing. id even threaten legal action. get him to get a solicitor to type a nice letter explaining that the jap zeds have bronze and the UK have the blue, it is a jap car and needs the correct glass, or they are devaluing his vehicle by putting the incorrect part on it.
