  1. firstly i,d like to say hello to old friends and hi to the new members who have jumped on board since my last visit . my zed has been off the road for about 18 months now but ive just took the bit between my teeth and thought enough is enough and have set to work on getting the old girl back on the road. as you would expect having not started her for 12 months ive got some issues . the main one being she refuses to start . im 99.99% sure the fuel pump has failed . im getting ignition live at the pump but its silent (it was always a little noisy before so i know its not working . my query is im only getting a live reading at one wire and im not sure whether thats dedicated to the fuel guage which is working fine . im just wondering whether it could be the fuel pump ecu . does anyone know whether i should have more than one live . i know the fuel will need draining and new stuff putting in once the dodgy part is identified . has anyone got a known good fuel pump , possibly a fuel pump ecu for sale for a tt model cheers andyzx happy new year to you all

  4. the tread compound on winter tyres is designed to work in temperatures of 7 deg celsius and lower . i was advised by a tyre fitter recently that in anything other than extreme cold or ice you are better off with normal tyres . a bit like a wet weather tyre in the dry on an f1 car . having said that though the morning you encounter black ice on a dark deserted lane you,ll be glad of them but change them back as soon as poss

  9. sorry to hear this . i wasnt expecting to see you when i did the other day . i was talking to the owner in the waiting room about his car when you popped out and was telling him that this was wrong and summat else was not right and not to worry it would all be put right for his trip home . i know you must be going through it right now but take heart from the value and respect you have in the zed community . hopefully yours and lyndas dream will become a reallity soon .

  13. i remember some time back on here somebody posted a link to a site where you could type in a car registration and be able to look back through all its mot,s showing what they had failed on or advisaries were issued . the site was free and very simple .the sites i have tried up to now are asking for form numbers and stuff which i havent got . im in the process of looking for another car at the moment so if anybody could give me the website it would be much appreciated. thanks andy

  18. as above really . i met keith tonight after he offered me a diff free of charge . what a top fella he is . club spirit at its best. thanks mate andy
  19. ive picked up a replacement diff tonight but its a non abs version . ive done plenty of searching on the web and im pretty that i can change the back plate to house the abs sensors and change the shafts and replace with the ones out of my old diff that have the abs rings on (not sure of the right name) both are n/a diffs so im hoping everything is interchangable . has anyone done this before . it looks fairly straight forward but if anyone has any pointers or recommendations they will be gladly received . also does anybody have any info on when the lsd diff without the abs was used. cheers andy
  20. cheers rich . i saw yours while i was at zedworld . you really have got to get rid of that naff lip and give it me
  21. weather permitting she gonna get a lot more use this year . ive had her on a sorn for the last twelve months hence the almost non existant mileage . shes gonna be a new animal this year as the last year has seen her chipped , manual conversion and an n/a back end . bring on the sunshine
  22. ive just had word back from zedworld that my Z went through the MOT with no issues . big thanks to jeff for organising the test and taking care of the car . thats four years running now 1st time passes . to say im happy is an understatement . mind you shes only done about 20 miles since last years test so i wasnt expecting too much to have wore out.
  23. to be fair mark most of the dearer ones are the same part just labelled up with posh names and posh prices
  24. looks nice that , especially with the chrome handles
  25. the first mod i did to my Z was installing a fire extinguisher. i think every car should have one, especially one that runs a turbo .
