  1. Paul Are all plenums the same? i own a '93 UK spec TT. Is it possible to chrome the plenum? If so would you know of anyone who would do one? Regards Kev
  2. I had this recently. When i plugged in Conzults. It came up with an error "crank sensor error" upon close in spection found the connector that plugs the cranks sensor is a tight fit, and hadn't plugged in completely. i then pushed it on with a light tap hammer and extension bar. Now all OK. Regards Kev
  3. What about these, are these any good? Available in 13" & 14" sizes. http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_6_9&products_id=1306 Regards Kev
  4. i have brought an Audio leads amp kit. In it comes a black nicle positive battery terminal, some amp cable, etc. in the picture below is a picture of the 35mm cable, + battery terminal and a thread insert i believe is to attach the cable to the terminal. the insert screws into ther terminal. but how does it hold the cable? The insert will hold the outside insulation of the cable. but this is no good, for true contact. i cannot believe you have to either crimp it or solder it. As the gap between the actual metal cable and the insert is quite large. Please help Regards Kev
  5. I own a UK spec TT the cats have no wires connected to them. Are you sure they are not the wires for the O2 sensors. If so they have to stay. I have removed my cats no probs, just tight to get at all bolts. Regards Kev
  6. Hi guys Can anyone tell me if i can use a conzults cable with datascan? I already own conzults, which has helped me numerous times. but Datascan looks better a a driving aid. I as hoping to have permanently plugged in and be able to switch between the two programs. Regards Kev
  7. I already have Conzults. Can i use the conzults cable and run Datascan to get the gauges display? Or can i download the software from anywhere to try? Regards Kev
  8. Hi Guys Looking for you tuners to give me some advise. I own a Uk spec Z32 series 2. About 4 years ago (3000 miles) i had a new Nissan short engine and 2 stock tubs fitted. I have recently fitted the following bits :- Greddy Profec B Spec II Boost Controller Blitz SUS Air Filter Koyo Radiator Greddy Intercoolers Uprated ECU Apexi BOV's Megan De-Cat Pipes Under Drive Pulley + Belts RPS Max Clutch RPS Lightened Flywheel RPS Pin New Thermostat New Oil Pressure Switch New Water Pump New Oxygen Sensors Earth Grounding Kits What would be the highest boost i should use, to get efficient boost from stock tubs, hoping for 15-16PSI. They are brand new. Plan on running until die. then replace with say 530BB's. Will my injectors supply enough fuel for that level of boost on stock tubs? I have a new set of 555's. Is it worth while fitting them instead? I have heard that at 15-16PSI stock injectors are maxing out. Plus, what pressure will stock internals take? Regards Kev
  9. UK spec 300ZX's have a pre-cat on one side and nothing on the other. it was a bodge by Nissan to get through emissions. JUST. If you fit de-cats, they replace from turbo outlet to exhaust H section. Regards Kev
  10. Guys can any of you help? Otherwise it looks like i will be fudging install. Regards Kev
  11. Hi guys, me again. Can you help? i removed the front bumper to fit new intercooler and dump valves. My problem is i have forgotten the path the headlight washer piping takes behind the bumper area. As i want to refit it. Has anyone got any pics or info on how the piping fits from the washer to the outlets? Regards Kev
  12. Does anyone know? :( Regards Kev
  13. Hi Guys. I hope someone can help me? I own a UK spec TT. I know it has DIP-Dim headlights. I am about to fit HIDs for dipped & high beam. But, i have been told i need to disable the dip-dim circuit! Can anyone tell me how i do this? I know where the dip dim box is. I was told by Luke Borg you need to disable it, but would not tell how? Can anyone tell me which wires? Or whether i can just unplug the box? A lot of people selling HID's, but no one can tell me correct install. :headvswal Regards Kev
  14. Hi Guys I am planning on converting from standard headlights to HIDS. I already have the kit, just reading threads, before fitting. I have read about needing to modify jap spec wiring so that when you use main beam the dipped beam do not switch off. This makes the bulbs last longer. It says that UK spec wiring is different. I have also read that you have to modify the wiring on UK spec as the dipped will come on dimly (dim-dip cct has to be removed). Does anyone know what i have to do on UK spec to achieve the above? If so could you E-mail me the info PLEASE? Hope to hear from you soon. Regards Kev
  15. Hi Guys Sorry to butt in. Can i ask a question? What are the best turbos for reliable power, quick spoolig. i have been looking at 530BB. They also do 730BB, but i don't know if the spooling times would be slow? Or do the ball bearings make up for this? I guess if you are using 530BB's that you are replacing pistons & conrods. Always been told if upping turbos, have to replace pistons & conrods. is this correct? Regards Kevin
  16. I have just done mine in my garage. First brushed all the underside of car to remove crap, especially back wheel arch areas collect it. I brought those cheap decorating sheets of polythene. to cover the floor of garage, which i masked off to the sides of the car. covered the brake assemblies. then brought the big tub of waxoyl the spray gun they seel. i then first heated the tin of waxoyl, pressurised the tin spray a thinish coat, as nearly comes out like treacle. A 1 hour job to spray, but easy. Best spray it in some old clothes you do not mind throwing away. As it GETS EVERYWHERE. Regards Kev
  17. Hi guys, Trying to fit my Megan de-cat pipes. But, they do not fit very well. Tried altering the bend, but moving stainless steel tube, is impossible. Do not want to use them as they are. Will put too much strain on turbo mountings and gearbox support. Can anyone recommend, what they did to fit theirs? Plus, my car is a UK TT manual. These down pipes are really close to gearbox cables and pipes coming off gearbox. Is this safe? I am concerned that the radiated heat coming off pipes might damage cables and pipes. Was thinking of otherwise wrapping pipes in exhaust heat banding. What do you think? Regards Kev
  18. So do you leave the bags in permanently or just to absorb any damp inside, as a temporary fix. Regards Kev
  19. Thinking of taking my headlights apart. Why do you need the silica bags? Apart from the obvious to remove damp. The back of the headlights is open anyway, so surely as long as there is no damp in the headlights before fitting the rear seals there is no need for the silica bags. Regards Kev
  20. Turbo Timers are good for preserving turbos. But, if you have an imobiliser, can cause problems. The imobiliser will try and switch off the engine while the turbo timer tries to keep it running. so if you have an imobiliser speak to a pro about getting it installed. Or if you dont have an alarm/imobiliser. Clifford do an alrm /imobiliser, which with an option called inteli-start, can remotely start you car with the doors locked, plus, keep your car running for a set period of time. Just another option to consider. Regards Kev
  21. Hi guys Been modding my Z. What is the maximum boost/bhp can the internals (pistons/con-rods) take, before you need to replace them. The reason i ask is, i am thinking of fitting 555 injectors and bigger tubs, but would like to leave the main engine for the moment. The car had a new Nissan engine install 3 years ago, about 5000 miles. seems a shame to replace. Can anyone advise? Looking on some U.S. performance sites like Z1 motorsport, they do performance packs where they supply bigger tubs etc. But no mention of replacing internals etc. http://www.z1motorsports.com/index.php?cPath=1_6_343 Even 600 HP pack. Is this correct? Regards Kev
  22. Hi guys I am looking at fitting wide arches to my Z. can anyone tell me what size flush fuel filler setup i need? I was planning on buying from Demon Tweeks. But unsure on the size. Thought it might be 3" ??? Or what else i will need for fitting it? Regards Kevin
  23. Hi guys. Do any of you know where i can get a centre console panel, as the picture attached? I want it without the heated seat buttons, which i have circled? The reason i ask is i am going to move the buttons off this panel as a passengers arm keeps switching them on. Mine is a UK spec 300ZX TT manual, 1993. Regards Kevin
  24. Hi Guys I own a '93 UK spec 300ZX TT, manual. Can anyone tell me what the size and length of all the bolts are that hold all the suspension together & to the car? Sounds a massive task i know. I am about to start removing all the front then rear suspension off the car. Remove all the old suspension rubbers. Shot blast it at work, then either hammerite it or powder coat. Fit new energy suspension poly bushes all over, then bolt together with new Stainless steel bolts. As a lot of the bolts look quite rusty. Was planning on ordering replacements as stainless steel. Last forever. If anyone could tell me the list or where i can find the information i would appreciate greatly. Otherwise looks like i will have to do the ground work as i go along. :duffer: Regards Kevin
  25. Hi I have got a pair of O2 sensors if you want them? Make me an offer. They deffinetely are OK, only replaced them as i am about to fit a new set of decat pipes of Chris @ Greddy, so i brought a new pair of O2 sensors from Nissan. They cost me £225 for the pair. Just so you i own a Uk spec 1993 TT manual. just spent about £6,500 on bits and in the process of fitting it all. :hyper: Regards Kevin
