1. Children and various other people will wave at you as you pass 2. Teenagers will stop and stare as you drive past, with the occasional brave one hollering "nice car mate!" 3. No-one wants to race it - all I've had so far from the local parade of so called "fast-car" drivers is a shake of the head and a smile 4. It scares the crap out of me and gives me the biggest grin in the world at the same time when I put my foot down 5. It's the best looking car in my entire town especially with the T-tops off 6. All my friends now hate me 7. All my friends now want to have a go in my car 8. Women love this car. It's crazy how they flag you down to have a "chat" in town... shame I'm getting married at the end of the month ;) 9. It's easily the quickest car I'm ever likely to drive, I don't want to go any faster than this lol 10. It is immense fun to do doughnuts in Zed 11. It is even more fun pissing all over all the annoying Nova/Corsa etc. brigade knowing that all they can see is a green glowing "300ZX" sign flying off in the distance (after I'm done with them of course hehe) 12. I need to budget for new rear tyres and quickly More to come I love this car, it's just insanely awesome. :dance:

Ok I'm going to sound silly now, sorry... :o Where are the coil packs? Is there an engine diagram anywhere on here? I did a search but couldn't find anything... Nick, If you let me know a time that's best for you (anytime after 7:30pm for me this week) I would really appreciate that. I don't know my way around a Zed at all yet, and to be honest it's all a bit daunting opening up that hood. It's a bit of a difference from a 1.6 Zetec engine!

Well, after a great drive home, Never went above 80, I got back into my home town, decided to put my foot down a bit, and something went... I don't know what, but now the engine is burbling rather then purring and it's not got any power whatsoever compared to before it happened. I think I may have hit the rev limiter for a brief second, and then it seemed to lose all grunt and it's running really rough :( What do I need to do to check it? Can anyone come and take a look for me, I'm in Braintree, Essex. I'm really gutted, I've only had it 1 hour and I've had to park it up for fear of doing damage by keep driving it... Please help guys I'm thoroughly gutted right now...

Going to pick up my First Zed in a few hours! I can't remember the last time I was this excited since I was a kid lol I'm not going for the other one, that fell through, I'm off to pick up a 91 Manual Wine Red 2+2 53,000 MILES certified, Tubby timer and some other bits as well. Can't wait for the drive home Woohoo! Although I'm going to take it easy for a long time until I get used to the big power and rear wheel drive. I have a healthy respect for this car and don't want to spank it as soon as I get it :eek: Just thought I'd let you guys know you'll have another member soon now I got my hands on one, I'll post pics as soon as I can :D TODAY IS A GOOD DAY!!!! Well, the strange thing is there was a description up until today... :confused: It's an auto, 1990. It needs a fog light put on, MOT, no SVA for some reason, registering with the DVLA and all shipping costs etc. including VAT come to £1700. So you have to pay say £40 for an MOT, put a fog light on yourself, pay £38 to get a reg no and register it and then you're ready to rumble. I share your concern with buying something you've not seen in the flesh, but it looks like it's been kitted out well. It's got various Apexi bits and bobs, can't remember which ones off the top of my head. It is weird the description is down now though...

Don't do it mate, they have cars with onboard computers that scan your number plate and it tells the cops to pull you over. They then go over your vehicle and you to find out what offence you've commited. Also, if you don't declare the car off the road you'll get a letter through, everythings on file and there's no getting away with it I'm afraid. My mate got caught with this and all he'd done was leave it parked at work. I got pulled over 1 day after my Tax had run out, it was on the last bank holiday, and I explained I forgot to renew and when I realised I had no Tax the post office was shut so I couldn't get tax. I got a seven day wonder and was reported to the DVLA, but I have heard nothing since. But all in all I wouldn't advise it. Is it worth the fine? If you don't have tax you have no Insurance as well, which is REALLY not a good idea... Gone are the days when you could get away with putting your wiper blade over the tax disc and get free tax for six months eh? ;)

There would be nothing I would like more than to be able to buy one from here, but this guy is willing to do a straight swap. I don't want to go through the hassle of putting it in autotrader and all the *****z that goes with it. It's not Standard, has done 72,000 Miles (certified) Uprated exhaust, 17 in Split rims, Full Black Leather inside. Auto. Like you say I'd rather pay (Or in this case swap) more for a good one, than risk paying 3-4k on one that might be a dog. It looks in lovely condition, but this is why I would really appreciate some company along to look at it so I don't get shafted. The main reason I'm going for it is the deal that he offers, ie. straight swap. Hi all, I was hoping for a little help on Tuesday 7th or Wednesday 8th in the evening. I've managed to find a '90 Zed with an owner who's willing to swap for my Focus. Mine's worth 6k+ and his is up for 5,500 ono so we're doing each other a favour it seems. Now here's the thing, I'm REALLY paranoid at picking up a bad one, and I would have no idea whether it was a good or bad one. I can say I've been to view and drive 3 now, and each one has been for 5k+ and each one has been in anything but good condition. Bodywork dented, Engine making weird noises with the owners looking puzzled when I point them out. If I hear "What noise?" from another seller one more time I'm gonna ram his head in the engine bay while it's running and ask him politely not to treat me like I'm a moron... lol So now to my question, I was wondering if there was anyone in the Hemel Hempstead area willing to come and take a look with me in the evening. I would feel a lot better having someone who knew what the engine is supposed to sound like and what to look out for etc. I know it's a lot to ask but there'll be a pint in it for you and the eternal gratititude of a (hopefully) new ZX owner! Shame really, most Zed owners are happy with thier cars and have NOTHING to prove, unlike yourself, who seems to have a habit of chewing wasps in your spare time and trying to start an argument at the slightest thing... I know people like you and I steer clear of them, no reason to do any different here and I suggest everyone else does the same.
