MMMmmmmm...bLiNgY bLiNg bLiNg...Thanks Danny
Vinz has a standard front strut brace (like we used to sell) and had it engraved & chromed. Let me see if my Japanese supplier can get hold of Nismo front strut braces. ;) Danny

Happy Birthday Danny
Thank you very much gentlemen! I didn't think anyone would remember ... ;) I thought I was meant to be getting the pressies - how does a 50% birthday surcharge on every order sound? ;) Yeah, was just thinking that bar a minor miracle I won't be retiring at 35 as I've previously set my goal ... What was I thinking? ... Thanks again guys - it's much appreciated! All the best, Dan

Temp Gauge drops as revs increase??? WHY???
Its actually the black connector which feeds the dashmounted temp guage - the yellow one is for the ECU only. Make sure the black connector makes good contact (clean both male & female connectors if necessary). I've had to tie-wrap mine to the connector to keep the airflow from the fan from pushing it off the connector ... HTH Dan

induction kits
Hi there! I'm also an official trader on this forum and can source any part you require. My upgrade advise always starts with "ensure your engine is running absolutely spot-on before you start upgrading". Ensure the following are checked and changed: Cambelt, ancillary belts, water pump and thermostat - change all Oil filter, fuel filters and oil change - change PCV valves & hoses, TPS, transmission fluids, powersteering fluids - check and change where necessary O2 sensors and all electrical connectors - check for functionality (O2 sensors) and clean all electrical connectors Vacuum lines - check for leaks Water lines - check for leaks I'm sure there are some more bits and pieces you can check/change whilst you're at it but the above would be the minimum. Once you are sure the engine couldn't run any better you can start upgrading - remember to notify your insurance company of any changes made to the car as failure to do so may/will invalidate your policy. The following are DTA-Motorsport prices (my company): Induction Kit: A'PEXi PowerFlow :£85 Exhaust: Mongoose cat-back (stainless steel) : £510 (delivered) Chip: DTA Performance Chip : £65 (plus an ECU socketing fee if required) Boost: A'PEXi AVC-R electronic boost controller : £285 (need to check current pricing but I think this is round about average), or custom made boost jets : £36 Brakes: stainless steel braided brake hoses : £90 Brakes: DTA brake brace bracket: £25 Strut Braces: front and rear: £140 Anti-sway bars: Stillen : £240 The above list is just a small sample of what we can supply and the choice is of course completely up to you as to which products you choose. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me on 07044016586 for a discussion. I hope the above has helped your understanding somewhat. All the best, Dan

induction kits!!
For the money you can't go much better than A'PEXi Power Flows ... IMHO. I've got a couple left in stock priced at £85 + £5 p/p. They are "dry type" cone filters which don't require any special cleaning oils and so will not knacker your air flow meter if/when the oil gets onto the filament. They are as pictured above (only single and not dual). Let me know if you'd like one. All the best, Dan

headlamp advice
Or if you're feeling the urge to really see where you're going fit a HID kit - available in 6000K and 8000K from DTA-Motorsport (in the traders section) and completely plug-n-play! I do of course recommend cleaning the headlights first ... always helps ;) Dan

Stock exhaust bore size ?
If memory serves me ... 2.5" bore. A lot of aftermarket exhausts (like B&B triflows) will be 3" for TT's and 2.5" for NA's but when I had my exhaust fabricated the pipes used had a bore of 2.5". HTH. Dan

Safe Psi
Pretty much like Sarg says ... Standard injectors WILL max out at 15psi and you'll need bigger injectors to go beyond that (plus bigger tubs, intercoolers, fueling, etc). An accurate boost guage (aftermarket) is essential and also consider that if you're using boost jets that they "may" cause boost spikes under heavy load so it would be safer (and wiser) to detune the boost slightly to say 12~13psi and be very cautious about detonation. If you're serious about upping the boost to the level you're speaking of then I would advice you save you pennies and buy a good boost controller. My personal advise is that you try running 12psi for day-to-day driving. It is both safe and still plenty quick ;) HTH Dan PS - I'm assuming you've got the car chipped and an aftermarket induction kit fitted. If not yo're not doing your engine any favours by running extra boost ... Give me a shout if you need any parts ordered.

Front crank oil seal
Plus belts, water pump, thermostat and water hoses (= 60k service kit). Might as well do it whilst you've got it all stripped of.

Insurance and other
If you don't mention this then the insurance company will "assume" it is a UK spec ZX. Come claim time you'll find you policy invalid because you supplied "fraudulent" information. Believe me ... they WILL look at it like that because you "witheld" information (whether on purpose or not). Also, declare your modifications as failure to do so will invalidate your policy as well. Everything from chip, alloys, exhaust, body kit, etc. It doesn't have to affect your premium but most insurers will want to know about power modifications and body kits/alloys. Do the right thing and be truthful ... it will be much better for you in the longrun. I paid in excess of £1300 when I first purchased my Zed (and it was bog standard Jap import). Now, with chip, induction and exhaust declared, and a lot of haggling I pay a little over £700 fully comp, NCB protected, etc. Through Houghten Insurance - which I understand won't insure "young" drivers - so do some phoning around. There are some good contact at the back of Jap Performance Magazine for instance. Good luck and enjoy your Zed when you get it! Dan HTH. Dan

Poly bushes...DIY??
Unless you have access to a press machine I would not suggest trying to replace all the bushes yourself. It took a 10-tonne press to get my old tension rod bushes out and the new ones in ... Don't even want to think about the rear subframe bushes ... Best take it to a specialist or a garage you trust. HTH. Good luck. Danny

An offer for the club!
Have tried these ... waste of time/money at least for shopping bags (will hold other items such as laptops, toolkits (altbeit not too heavy), amps in place nicely). Shopping bags are obviously far taller than these blocks and will still topple over. I think Harve's solution - lock from the top - is far superiour because you're using the combined weight of the bags to keep them in place whilst effectively closing the top to prevent items from toppling out.

Figures for Profec2 B spec
Can't help you with the SET GAIN figures, etc but just wanted to warn you that the standard injectors max out at 15psi or there abouts depending on their condition. I don't know whether you're running 555's or not so please take this in the spirit it was intended: friendly advice.

Aftermarket brake rotors in UK?
Hi! I'm in the process of establishing an agreement with a "big brake conversion" specialist and will be able to provide rotors (discs), calipers and brackets for Zeds. These will be available to fit behind 17" alloys and another set to fit behind 18"+ alloys. Not sure yet if I can supply just the rotors and bracket but will enquire for you. Beware though that shipping costs will be astronomical due to the weight. All the best, Dan

Urgent - O2 Sensors
True (forgot about that) ... I have two sensors I ordered ages ago and just had a look. Yes, the locator clips are different; no, the part numbers are the same; and yes, one wire is longer than the other by about 10cm ... V. confusing but you should be ok with what you've got. Regards, Danny

what u lot think of the boot install ?
You're such a girl Karl! LOL ;) What material is it constructed of and do you know what volume the sub enclosures are? Also, is the rear strut brace fitted underneath the amps or did you not get that fitted?
