  2. quick question, can i fit a sump from one gearbox to another? mine has a sump plug, the one im replacing it with doesn't... *sorry bad spelling...:blush:

  5. kinda occurred to me, does this sound like the idle control vales had failed? or sluggish?
  6. just took my zed out ( i know late on a sunday to be taking out a zed with a broken gearbox ) but was only dropping something to a mate down the road. i noticed it seems to be acting odd, the idle is fine, but when ever i come off the throttle the idle drops and it nearly stalls???? its not done this before, only thing that's changed is it now has a full z1 silicon idle hose set on. they are not leaking or defective, as far as i can tell, but its dark and late so will look tomorrow, anyone ever had this problem?
  7. they are just far enough in that they aren't getting wet, had enough rain the last few days to test it out.
  8. hi mate, is the silver one doing the same as the black then? what are they doing?? im in no rush so by all means use the silver for testing.

  13. yeah turbos are stage 2, and i think i know what you mean, id say it sounds like a supercharger. the turbos were primed a fair few times, and then the car was left running on my driveway for ages, before i ever drove it, and they have made the same noise ever since the first drive, been on there more then long enough for oil to be circulating,(100-150KM now) oil pressure is all good too. as of tomorrow its no longer my daily drive, as its now un-drivable. ill get the gearbox sorted first, then probably aim to get the engine out next year when i have the money also fitted new braided oil lines, special ones without restrictors as they are not ball bearing turbos.
  14. found the fault today, checked all the fuses, all good, checked the relays, all good, checked the bulbs, all good, checked the connectors on the bulbs, all good removed the dash and checked the connectors and bulbs, all good getting annoyed i got the voltmeter out and found a break in one of the wires to the block connector that goes to the light switch, (green and black wire on the right) so repaired it and and all good, got headlights again now, just need to fix the rest of the zed now....lol...:blink:

  16. well my gearbox is dead my car whines on boost, it looks like a shed and is Hemorrhageing power steering fluid, and now...... my head lights are playing up... right when i turn the sidelights on, the dash doesn't light up, then when i turn the headlights on the dash still doesn't light up but the full beams come on??? the stalk is working i can flash or put the full on, when i put the front fogs on the dash lights up, could this be the pod that's failed? or is there a fuse?
  17. went to take it for a drive today, and its gone again, no fault codes on either ecu or auto ecu, so i assume its mechanical, i've changed the fluid but only got about 3l out of it, so ill try to do it again tomorrow to get even more of the old fluid out, worrying thing is the fluid looked like engine oil and had the consistency of water... :(.. dread to think how long its been in there.
  18. even our Nissan mechanics don't like working on zeds, they just laugh and criticize when i bring mine in and start working on it,
  19. i'll do that tomorrow then, what fluid do people recommend? its a 7.7Lt system on an import i think. but 5 should be enough for a change right?
  20. tbh i dont know. do you think it could have broken down with the heat?
  21. long since fitted an additional cooler, also a lrg alloy rad, and nismo thermostat. if it was a manual id say its clutch was slipping, but it wont go into 3ed or 4th either...changing from 1st to 2nd was very violent too. but now drives normal again??? the cooler felt hot as it normally does. it went on the dyno with the box playing up so that could be where the power went....
  22. now im really confused..... when i got it home i disconnected the battery to reset the both ecu, and now its driving and changing like normal again??? with no fault codes what so ever??? is there a safety mode on the auto box?
  23. think my zeds made its intentions clear today, took it to ssr to see what it was running like, coming off the M25 i noticed my auto box stopped working properly, will not shift higher then 2ed + o/d, thinking it was a couple of mile to SSr id look at it there well, and about 1/2 mile before i got there it emptied its radiator, through a meter matrix hose.... fixed it, and filled it back up with water dyno showed good AFR, same boost but less power....??? baring in mind its got less weight on the crank and japspeed elbows, and bigger turbos, it cant be good. to cut a long story short it made it home, but its running hotter then normal, and the gearbox is fubared. anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the auto box? i think its running hot because its was having to be revved to get it home.
