  1. Those are the one's I've got sat in my garage ready to fit right now! Bought them before reading the comments from people saying they've been crap or sluggish (how can you tell?).
  2. how long did it take you guys to change over the sensors? They look like it's going to be a right chew-on to get to!
  3. I've had a look in my car mate and tbh I couldn't figure out what you've done. Could you elaborate more on your description or even better, add in some diagrams (even if hand-drawn?)?
  4. That's me in the middle:
  5. Aaaah, so you don't look like your avatar pic all the time then? :D
  6. Any chance I can have your old ones? I refurbed mine a couple of weeks ago using plasti-dip, and then didn't put them back on the car properly so they flew off while I was driving :headvswal So I now have a load of plasti dip and could use some more to have a go on :)
  7. Hmm, I'm a bit confused. I've just been through the folder of history I've got, and the clutch was replaced less than 5,000 miles ago (in 2006). The clutch and associated parts cost £280 excluding labour. Is it possible that the clutch has run in that short a time? Also, the car was taken to zedworld twice in September 08 (~1k miles ago) for a service & other bits & bobs. Wouldn't they have advised if the clutch was on its way out? Is there anything else that could cause the clutch to slip? cheers
  8. yeah, I was looking at the fitted price from Zedworld. I reckon I could do it myself, so should be able to save a fair few pounds :) The car's only chipped and got a cone filter and cat-back stainless exhaust so I don't need anything fancy, just something that will last a while!
  9. Hi all, Over the past week I've noticed that when I am at full throttle and approach full boost (14psi) at around 3-4k revs the engine suddenly revs high quickly but I don't go anywhere as though my clutch is slipping very badly. I've had suspect thrust bearings since I bought the car and was wondering if it could be some other clutch-related issue, or I should just start crying now at the thought of paying out £520 for a new clutch  Cheers, Brian
  10. Turns out I'm a bit of a muppet. The connector to the right of the pic is fine and plugged in and everything, it's only the connector on the left which was unconnected. For some reason I got confused and thought the connector on the right of the picture plugged into the bit circled on the left. Anyway, the left connector does indeed have 3 wires going into it (red, white, black) and I plugged it in on the way home from work. Not really sure if there's a difference in the car, I was more concerned to discover my clutch is slipping massively when I hit 3-4k revs at full throttle :\ do clutches take time to warm up before they can handle the power? Back on topic, I'm going to do an ECU diagnostic tonight now that the sensors plugged back in, to see if it throws up any o2 sensor errors. Thanks for all the help guys!
  11. I'll see if i cant get a clearer picture of the wires going into the connector today and upload it after work :)
  12. I don't know anyone with Conzult at the moment, would I be able to run the oxygen sensor test that's documented elsewhere to check them as reliably?
  13. Cool, I'll plug it back in tomorrow on the way back from work and see how the car runs. The overfuelling issue was on my list of things to do so hopefully that'll be one diagnosed/knocked off the list then!
  14. Aah, that'll explain why I seem to be overfuelling at full boost then! Can you elaborate on the cats comment? I know the car has a stainless exhaust from the cats back so I assume the cats are still in place.
  15. Cheers Si, an instant fountain of knowledge as always!
  16. Hi all, I was installing my new HIDs the other day and noticed there's a wire not plugged into a connector: It's located on the passenger side of the engine, right next to the plenum. Can anyone shed any light on what it's for and why it's not connected? Cheers, Brian
  17. Hey all, Anyone know what wheel brand these are? They were on my car when I bought it: Cheers! Brian
  18. I had a 530i before my Zed. The 530i will probably have the same engine, if I rinsed it I could get as little as 15mpg on a trip, with 'enthusiastic' driving, it'll give you around 20-25mpg, and when I took it to LeMans and back with 3 people in the car and fully loaded it gave us 35+mpg at 70-80mph. Great engine though, but will be quite tame compared to the Zed. However, dare I say it, my 530i sport handled brilliantly, better than the Zed IMO. Edit - Oh, and mine was a 51 plate
  19. aye, I've thought about getting into architectural visualisation for a while. I think I'll have a look around the net to see how they advertise the jobs in that industry...
  20. Naa, unfortunately not. Although I am considering picking them up (my Dad and brother are both into that side of things). It's more the creative side I'm into, so I'm using SoftImage XSI at the moment.
  21. Alright all, Thought I'd pick the ZX brains and have a bit of a whinge! :nana2: I've been looking for 3D artist jobs for the last year since I did my Masters in Computer Games Art, and have been doing admin since I (re) graduated. Now I don't have anything against doing admin but it's a bit gutting when I worked my arse off every day to get a distinction, and am now not using any of the skills I have and am stuck paying back £200 a month for the loan I took out so I could do the course in the first place! Anyway, I've been concentrating on Environment Art jobs but I'm not having any luck there, I was wondering if anyone else can suggest areas\industries I may not know about or know how to get into which would let me use the same skills. I'm not looking for big money, I just want to make stuff in 3D! Anyone got suggestions of job roles I should be searching for?

  23. I *think* it had a spoiler, but it was a couple of months ago now so I really have no idea!
  24. Get it on Pistonheads mate, there's a category for 300ZX's and there's so few for sale at any one time that you can place a free ad and know it'll be seen. I've had a couple of cars on there and not had any hassle but still plenty of interest.
  25. The rear lights don't look as bad in real life, I was certain I'd get rid of them when I originally saw the pics online, but when I saw the car in person, I thought I can live with them. I do still fancy a set of 99-spec lights, but unfortunately the new lights have been moulded into the body so it's gonna be a bodyshop job to get OEM lights back in :-/
