without having his balls off
I just watched this episode of 'its me or the dog' the other day listed below. Chaos did get them chopped off but even with that I think it was 30-40% dont stop humping coz they got in the habit, solution was just more exercise so that he is too tired to think about humping and then dirstract him when it looks like he's about to if I remember right Series 4 Episode 6 http://www.channel4.com/programmes/its-me-or-the-dog/4od

vauxhall tigra
cheers mate, I found a site listing a 'trick' about putting brake and accelerator to the floor and turning ignition to position 2 and the engine management light flashes the codes to you, number of blinks relating to fault codes, hopefully that will work

To all the Scots on here
If you want to watch your car drive itself you could try electric brae in ayrshire - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_Brae When your in Glasgow its worth taking the back roads to Loch Lomond as well, some nice twisty roads up that way. I'll have a think for some more but just heading out to view a car for the mrs just now.

vauxhall tigra
Bit of a longshot but... Anybody know how to test the warning lights on the tigra? I remember with my old bmw that you held the odometer reset in and turned the ignition a click or two and the lights in the dash came on 1 at a time and the speedo and rev counter moved round to check the bulbs are working etc. Just want to check when I test this tigra for the mrs tomorrow that the engine management bulb hasn't been removed after reading some horror stories on my previously posted link

vauxhall tigra
Went to view a tigra today (not the one that spurred me to start this thread, I'm viewing that tomorrow), this one was quite a bit newer for not a lot more £ and was closer to home but had no pics with the ad so I took a run out to see it - rear quarter panel had a big ass dent that had been poorly pulled out leaving ripples, small crack on rear bumper, front bumper wasn't sitting right at one side, reg plate had a million cracks and the bonnet had a lot of wee rusty bits near the front that had been touched up...so I ask the question, 'when was the crash?' ...'its never been in a crash' ...goodbye and good luck with your sale :nono: Never even got round to starting the engine after that blatant lie, also in the space of 30 seconds said I bought it as a private sale so I did a vehicle check on it...then...the garage I bought it from did the timing belt for me when I bought it - if you are going to be a liar then please put some practice in to make sure you are a good liar! :slap:

zed or supra
There is a guy in glasgow (runs chillies takeaway) with a supra (not sure what exact model) that is running at 998bhp!! He's got the private reg to match. He has a few nice motors including a Lister (beautiful) and a couple of zeds...jammy b*stard!

Found out what that tapping noise was...
With offers like that flying around I'd consider moving 400 miles south! Very generous indeed dude.

Garage List (Scotland)
hhhmmm interesting! Cant imagine there would be much competition on the bidding front for that either. Mine is an 89 facelift model, think 87-89 should be the same? Already on its second engine, I've had it about a year and a half and according to the history file it had a replacement about 6 years ago...3 months after the history file shows that the timing belt was done

Advice General
I know it is unlikely that you would get dodgy notes but I have always did it during working hours so that the cash was handed over at the bank and put into account straight away...that way the notes are checked straight away and also the buyer knows that you dont have a pile of notes under your bed that night...that may just be my paranoia though :o

Garage List (Scotland)
Cheers mate, I was looking for somewhere closer to home so that I could drive it there without risking warping the head to save on recovery cost. Managed to find Kenny Browns, the garage is 'Kenneth Brown Motor Engineering' and they are just down in Hillington Industrial Estate. Spoke to one of the guys and they sound like they know what they are talking about and the guy is an ex racer, his son is into single seater racing now. They are going to have a look at it for me next week whoopee  could be back on the road and sliding around in the rain in no time at all

Garage List (Scotland)
Got Kevin on the phone and he said he has worked on a couple of zeds but he's busy for at least a month, suggested I try Kenny Brown Motorsport, he didn't have contact details and I've no been able to find it listed anywhere yet, I'll try looking again when I've got more time but if anybody has heard of him and/or has contact details then stick up a post please

Garage List (Scotland)
Just spotted this old post, gonna give this guy a call tomorrow (I'm in Cardonald just down the road from him) to have a look at my z31's engine, cheers huggy bear :hyper: had a few quotes but from places that nobody has had experience with so I was a bit nervous about trusting them with my baby so I've left it off the road for longer than I would have liked

vauxhall tigra

newbie in scotland
howdy mate, good to see another scot onboard. and dont worry you are not alone, I've got a mark 1 currently laid up til I get round to getting head gasket done. If you look at some of the posts you'll see some similar stories...CraigTT springs to mind, he is another scot just about nearing the end of a major engine overhaul too and is getting excited, I'm sure it will be worth the wait when you get it sorted

vauxhall tigra
the mrs has (had) a wee ford ka and got a 3 page failure sheet for its MOT today so I'm dropping it off at the scrappy in the next week, she is keen on tigra's and I've saw one going cheap nearby - anybody ever had one (you can claim it was your wives to save face if you want ;) or know what to look out for when going to test drive it? Cheers

gutted
Cool, what about that fact that even if they supply the parts they will only give a 3 month warranty on the labour though? Is that pretty standard? Thats the bit that worried me most
-
gutted
I've phoned the garage back about getting the z31 in and as suggested by NA6CETOM (cheers btw) I asked them to quote for the couple of additional bits and pieces while the head was coming off, they reckon about £700 all in. If I supply the gasket set then it comes with no warranty...if they supply the parts then the parts will come with 12 month warranty but labour only 3 months...sounds iffy to me what you guys think? Should labour not be warranted for 12 months / x amount of miles? I asked in the scottish events section if anybody had heard of or had experience with this garage before I phoned today but nobody had so put it out to the wider group - Cylinder Head Express in Glasgow, anybody used them?
