i have a jap spec decatted twin turbo and have recently fitted a mongoose exhaust. my garage has tols me that the manifold pipe has a hole in it so i wan to replace it. can i get a stainless steels one. if not can where can i get a front decat pipe. cheers marcus

maybe better refrain from fitting it as my car sometime looses boost on stock ecu

As u may see from the for sale section, just bought this off DaveC. Just wanted to know if anybody had some info on this ecu. Can i now up my boost with it? Will it make any difference to my car?

to be honest its just had an mot, im sure they would have pointed out of there was a problem. had a look myself and they are an orange colour but wouldnt say there were any holes or bubling and they sound fine when u tap them with a hammer.

as u may recal from yesterday i had the rac out to fix my no starting z. when looking under the car to see if the wires had come off the starter he said to me. (Spoken in Bristol Accent) "u wanna look at selling this one mate, your chassis legs are rusting, thers not even any paint on them." as u can tell im not happy. is this a common problem? can it be fixed? were they ever painted?

mine does the same and its in for the poly bushes on friday. if this dont work then its new 3g discs for me, but ill let you know what happens. removed the abs fuse and its alot better than it was. sure thats not a good idea if it rains.

the car feels 100 times more responsive even without the turbo kicking in. before after about 20 mins the felt like it was struggling, but like trying to drive with the handbrake on. now u just have to tap the accelerator and she goes. any bad bit was the rac guy said my chassis legs were rusting so i think she aint gonna last much longer as i think thats a expensive or impossible job to do.

ive had 2 main problems on my todo list for my car in the brake judder and the weird loss of power. well today went to start and nothing. took most of the dash apart as suspected immobiliser. anyway few hours later gave up called the rac. rac man suspected the immobiliser so removed it. commented on how the person who wired it up did a bit of a bodge job and the stange fact that the rear fog lamp was wired into the immobiliser. anyway with this removed tried to start again and nothing. checked all the fuses again and all seemed fine. pretty stumped now he did more checks of various things. just before giving up he checked the ignition fuse for the 4th time and noticed it was broke but somebody had bent the wires together. removed the elec seat fuse put it in the place of the ignition fuse and wayhey its started. well off he went and i was happy. went to start the car a bit later and knocked the fog lamp switch, suddenly no power as fuse blew again. so then moved the abs fuse into the ignition slot and started fine. so took it for a spin to see how she was, braking wasnt as bad as before but not completly cured. the weird thing was my car felt soo different. its more responsive than it had ever been, it fely lighter and nimble. i booted it 12 time and not once did i loose and turbo power. the guage needle was further to the left at idle , not by much and every time it booted it the needle would go a little past the last but one mark and not just upto the saftey boost mark like it did after i booted it 3 or 4 times before. question is, was it the abs or the immobiliser causing the loss of power problems.

stevo, how do i test the tps?

ok done that an no difference. have had a problem loosing boost recently and no probs today though. did shift from d to 2 when booting it rather than leaving it upto the gearbox is i noticed the other day when overtaking in d the gearbox did not kickdown and this i think engine why trying to accelerate from too low revs and thus loss of boost. it was raining so it might be hot days when the car looses boost so im gonna try the same method on a warm day.

im going on sat only and will be buying a ticket when i get there i think. as a suscribed member does that mean i can park with the rest of u lot on the club stand or do i need to pay more or book in advance for that.

hi all, just disconnected my battery to reset my ecu's. the problem im having is 1st to 2nd being a bit delayed and jerky. once i have reset the ecu's, is there any set procedure to follow to get the gearbox to re-learn itself properly. reason im asking is on my onld bmw auto, you had to follow a certain set pattern of driving to get gearbox to learn correctly. see link below, do u think this should apply to our auto's too http://membres.lycos.fr/technice31/Files/manual_0067.jpg

done an ecu check and 10 short flashes. weird thing it i dont seem to have an at light. its my power light that comes on when i start and my power light that flahes the codes

might go up with my bro for sat and sun, is it too late to get tickets can i get them up there. how much are they and where is billing lol
