Water in inlet port (No. 6 only)
Below is some info from a friend of mine who is rebuilding a TT engine. He has asked me to post this info+pix up in case anyone has seen/heard of this problem before, or indeed to make them aware of it. Attached are some photos: excuse the quality, they were done late last night on a mobile phone. "Here are some pictures of Number 6 "front" inlet port, this is the best I could do with my camera phone. Just a run down on the history of this engine, bought off ******* on our forum with less than 30,000 miles on it. I stripped it down re-rung, glaze busted the bores, skimmed heads, re-faced valves &valve seats, polished crank, rebuilt and ready to drop back on to my car, as you could see Just noticed water sat in this inlet port with no reason Um, since engine has been built and sat where you saw it (inside a heated garage), no reason for water to be in there!!! All other ports clean and dry, only no 6 sat in water!! If you look, you can see the white bubbles where it looks like "maybe" a fault in the alloy!! I have seen this on some Vauxhall diesel engines and they lose water into the cylinders via this way "not a good sign really" Plus I noticed after I stripped the engine at the start, I noticed No 6. bore had some unexplained water marks on the walls of the cylinder We removed the marks once we glaze-busted the block. All in all, it looks like a fault in this port!! Only reason I ask about this fault is that I never heard anyone mention anything on the Forum about this faulty, or leaky cylinder heads Another mystery for the guys on the Forum and hope to make more awareness of this problem, if there is one"

Reverse lights not working
Mine didn't work for years - it was the switch on the gearbox which, apparantly, is the same one as fitted to a Nissan Cabstar (switch that is :D ) Changed it when my gearbox came out for a clutch and flywheel change :D

Hi there - I got mine from Nippon Auto via e-bay - I'm not 100% sure if he's still trading, and if he is, he can be quite slow in responding to e-mails. If you can still get kits from him they are great quality and he can supply extra hide to do the panels, door cards etc and also make up handbrake and gear lever gaitors. :D

Links are in my sig :D By doing as much of the work as possible you can save a fair bit. I paid for the covers to fitted to the seats and for the panels to be covered. I did all the removal and refitting of the panels to the car and the stripping off of all the old tweed. :D
