Insurance Companies
there really are 2 types of members....and i dont mean TT/NA ....its split between those who use the zed as a daily drive/first car and those who have it as a second motor (classic policy etc).... within thoses groups are those over 30 and those under.... it would seem that whilst a lot of owners here have classic policies with Houghtons but you now have to be over 30 in all cases...so under 30's are left with only 1 choice and that is the problem.....as more insurers are gearing their cover to insure them only under classic (second) car policies this makes the 1st car (daily driver) policies uncompetitive....so as less firms do them so you get more and more of the F off quotes...vicious circle...so i guess what they say is true you cant please all of the people all of the time....and houghtons isn't a 1 size fits all solution it is a niche for them with the resulting restrictions on who can be covered... i reckon there would be beers all round for anyone who could find a broker or insurer who would do cover based on zed ownership alone regardless of 1st 2nd motor, import or age related issues cheers

Saggy Seatbelt Syndrome
I had em replaced....IIRC there is a built-in (design) feature which allowed a certain amount of slack so the belt didnt get uncomfortable by snagging on your clothes etc... its electronically controlled...pop off the door card and there is a small connector which runs from the seat-belt unit...it controls the slackness if you unclip it i think the belt then operates as a normal retracting belt....shoot me down if i'm wrong someone...:D

Dont give to charity
dont get me started.....! oh whats to say except if you want an army of unpaid voulenteers, avoiding tax and banking charges, peppercorn rents, occupation of the high moral ground, the right to sell new goods, publishing rights, selling knowledge, and the ultimate customer service put down should you dare to complain....WE ARE A CHARITY DONT YOU KNOW..!! not to mention the scams in selling books clothing furniture to middlemen/traders for cash...and letting governments off the hook...who would have to step in but dont safe in the knowledge a do-gooder somewhere will instead rant over....ps i used to work in a charity no disrespect to those who give time for free but its the system that stinks

ebc brakes
i was being a bit leftfield with the plating...but i reckon gold leaf might go on... its cheap most decent art shops sell packs you brush it on and the static/magnetic holds it down...not sure how stuck it would remain what with the heat and rain etc...anyways here is a shining example of gold leaf

Re: I Blame the schools.....
saw 5 mins of it...i thought her mum looked young too...possible teenage when she had her daughter (the one who died)...which if she was shows the system has failed back then so its not surprising history was repeated...i'm not saying the mum didnt have a role/example to set but there is a role for education/welfare advice to help the misguided or uneducated in society...rather than what alot of schools do which is basically expell teenage mums...not surprising they dont set a good example as they end up having no access to skills and being told they are wicked or feckless or worse good god i'm ranting....:) must dash

i meet some dodgy people
worked with some unfortunate souls who were referred by legal and mental health teams....sort of stuff they got up to included....wiring their electric supply direct from the lifts...getting married and not knowing it...removing window frames to improve the view...referring to money as colours as in i'd like a blue one a red one and a purple one...uninstalling their kitchens and putting them in the lounge to save on walking...having their whole house turned into a crack den complete with murders and hookers and not knowing as they were kept toked up and fed for free by the dealers....still we can laugh about it now :D

Re: I Blame the schools.....
IMHO if you follow some of the above to its logical conclusion then all women (or their partners) of child-bearing age who live in an socially deprived area's with no prospect of meaningful employment should perhaps be sterilised or have their kids put up for adoption....a little bit of history repeating....we have been there and done that in this country and a few others.... anyway to borrow another cliche....if history teaches us anything its that we learn nothing from history interesting debate as always...right my time as devils advocate is up...have fun... :D
