  1. You and Yours BBC Radio4 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/youandyours/ Put your questions to the Transport Secretary on his plans to introduce "pay per mile" road charging.
  2. oh for sure....it was funny to see you put it like that....just most owners on here seem to have pre 1994...yours would be considered a new(ish) ride
  3. Jeff...what you said about inspections is true enough....but Mark only said these are the kind of things that need attention on a regular basis cant see the harm in that...
  4. chris that is true but i asked smithy how big they was cos my original sticker was peeling off thought they might fit and they are a perfect match and so i got them stuck on the back of my zed no probs...look v nice too i can assure you :hyper:

  7. errm most must be....the ewoks in RoftheJedi....hundreds of the furry fookers oh and the wizard of OZ
  8. history shows this is nothing new....don't suppose anyone saw Coast on BBC the other night? it told the story of the Yeman(ese) sailors who ended up living in South shields...who wern't exactly welcomed with opened arms by the locals...so much so the Yemi's were forced to run their own shops n B&B's just so they could feed and house themselves...this ended up with a race riot after locals thought this was the beginning of the end for the white man...and the letters to the local paper...one accused the Yemi's of taking only the prettiest girls and leaving the locals with the pug ugly ones...all back in the 1930's
  9. big air lock maybe in the matrix...hence no water spilt?.....you can try filling the coolent parked on a steepish slope to make any air locks rise to the neck..whilst running the engine and heater etc
  10. is this real...call me a skeptic / killjoy if you must but this reminds me of the FOAF (friend of a friend) tales that do the rounds from time to time elements of them are very plausable but all to often the key facts can never be pinned down to a person or place which actually exisits....still i stand-by to be corrected
  11. remember you can push the little button behind the selector...if it sticks again that is...to free the park lock other than that i guess there must be a switch high up on the brake pedel which will be a b!tch to get to that needs adjusting/cleaning
  12. Duty is around 45%....but it feels like 80% found this article
  13. ...hate doing work for those who wont do theirs...lots of banks expect me to write to them with info they already have on file but can't be bother to look for...or explain line by line letters and documents over the phone when its been faxed and just needs reading and actioning...as in most disputes phone calls count for nought when the chips are down (as in...who told you that...do you have their name?....prove it....etc.etc) so why they insist on more and more call centre account managment when fax/email/recorded delivery exisit is beyond me...well it's not really...it goes to limit their liability by pushing the burden of proof onto a third party....the directors must love the effect on the bottom line....gin and tonic anyone? see you at clubhouse! :D
  14. it is a varient on the chain letter emails designed to make mail servers crash by causing massive traffic flows...though its approach is novel and the argument sound its flawed cos the majority of households (and therefore drivers) dont use the web so wont get the message
  15. well she did do a double take...but no...she said he was handsome looking so it couldnt have been me....!
  16. yeah...dont see why not esp if it's fully accident damaged included (covering any landlords fixtures n fittings or furniture)...just get a copy from the ins co to give to the agent / landlord...who could want more? apart from a swindler hell bent on having your money in their account or getting fat commissions from over priced insurers... sorry ranting a bit..:)
  17. offer them 6 months rent in cash upfront and no costs or BS and you'll do your own h/hold insurance ...or you'll walk to the next agency...if you aint got the cash then i guess you're over the barrel...!?
  18. she said a red 300TT waved at her Ashdown Forest / East Sussex yesterday...possibly cos she has a 300zx.co.uk sticker on the back window of the family MPV...or she just attracts guy's in red 300TT's...who can say?
  19. oh its a racket all right....compulsory insurance...cleaning bills when you move out taken off your deposit...i sued a landlord over a better-ment....he thought his 20 year old carpet with a fag burn should be replaced as new by my deposit for £700....haha...nope judge thought the carpet was worth £20 when damaged by us which is what he got...less my costs meant he got f all
  20. just discussed the heat that builds up in the engine bay with a pal who is involved with mechanical design...he said when cooling a hot space you enclose it (except for an entrance / exit) use an intake hole to match the biggest/fastest fan you can fit in and thereby create the largest draft possible into the space which needs cooling....any enlargment of the fan intake holes ie by fitting modified bumpers adding grills etc only reduces draft and the effect of cooling goes down with it...or to put it this way the worst way to cool your PC is to take the side panels off as the fan cant circulate a draft with no sides...or your bonnet if it was a car...however the calculation of extraction is complex with a car as cooling systems, weather and speed of travel come into play...but most designers over calculate the extremes with the initial design...so only increased performance needs increased intake...otherwise you're just adding to the heat by reducing draft...also rather perversely you dont want too much cooling as the efficiency of some moving parts is reliant on them being nice and hot oh well back to the day job
  21. IMHO the best way to run in your cambelt is to have it fitted to the engine first
  22. sounds like its out of Superman III.....the part played by Robert Vaughn...he did exactly the same thing with his socks IIRC....:D
  23. well never had the pleasure of a manual TT but i can say i kept neck and neck with a Jag XKR off the line....(quoted 60mph @5 second car) there was nothing in it so not sure why nissan quote such times for auto's unless it was n/a....all i know is when i boot it i dont get time to look at my watch...:D
  24. go to the links section...or here for a list of all bodykits
