probably half a litre, to a litre at most

would over filling the engine oil cause the car to mis-fire? i changed the PTU, thinking that was the problem, but still the same. car is very smoky, would it just be cos the spark plugs are covered in oil? or does it sound like something bad?

have got the battery off the car and its on charge, i suspect that it may just be the battery. have ordered a series 2 PTU already though!! typical!! £124 from courtesy nissan, with connectors and mounting plate. guess it wont hurt to change it though should have just taken the battery off straight away and charged it :headvswal

Just been searching through some old threads and i think it may be the PTU, but wanted to ask for some extra help to make sure. Car ran fine yesterday, although i noticed that it misfired when pulling out of the petrol station, then went ok again almost immediately. went to start the car this morning and it wouldnt start, as if the battery was under charged, just kept clicking and not turning over. left the car for the morning and came back to it at lunch, to remove the battry and charge it. but the car started but now is only running on 4 cylinders. The front 2 cylinders are not firing. i have swapped over coil packs but still the same. Is this likely to be the PTU?

does 'lower' gearing mean higher top end and slower acceleration or is it the other way round?

no they werent metal, and they all disentegrated when they came off, they were all brittle

I had to remove the middle section of my exhaust at the weekend so my mate could weld it where it had split. It is a blitz system as far as i know but i need some new gaskets for the re-fitting. Does anyone know where i can get some new gaskets please? Or can i get away with that gasket sealer paste? cheers ross

I also have a problem with my drivers door window - it wont go up or down if the weather has been cold, once the car has been running for a while and warms up then it works fine. All through the summer months it is fine then as soon as the weather gets colder its back to its tricks again! very strange

When i first got my car the stock boost gauge would be right over on the left hand side when the engine is idling. Now it isnt, it has moved towards the middle of the gauge indicating a loss in vacuum. I also have a blitz boost gauge and this is also reading less of a vacuum when the car is idling. Does this mean that i have a boost leak, or something else?
