Got bored part 2 :D
thats the thing, i cant really do this full time, but can do it every now and again when i get time with work commitments an all that! but would be willing to do one for ya to help you with your install. i used to do a lot of car installs and made a few show worthy ones at that. i used to have a similar sort of set up in my old honda prelude. had 2 12" subs sat opposite each other with a false floor, raised about 90mm, with 2 amps under the floor with a perspex cover over the amps (with some fancy logos cut out by moi) so that you could see them. also had a beat activated strobe light hidden in the amp compartment which kinda looked pretty cool when the music was on, but probably looks a bit "Chavish" now! lol!:slap:

Got bored part 2 :D
yeah no probs mate, always happy to do stuff like this as its a break from the normal boring stuff that i normally do! anyway, i don't want this to appear that i've hijacked Darksides thread as it was originally about his sweet looking install! i may start a thread asking if anybody wants stuff doing but don't know how i would go about it as im not a subscribed member yet (will be soon) and don't want to get in trouble with all the nice peeps here!

Got bored part 2 :D
anything you want me ol fruit! i've made allsorts (out of working hours obviously!) from keyrings to portraits made from rubber... i'll see if i can find some pics of my handiwork and post them up for you mate. easiest way would be to send me a piccie of what you want and id, draw it up for you. Obviously there are limitations to what can be done but, i can normally find a way round it!

Got bored part 2 :D
nice looking job you've done there mate. On a side note, i have access to a waterjet cutter at work and have 3mm thick lexan (like perspex only stronger and uv protected so doesn't go milky after a while). im also a computer aided designer by trade so if you ask me nicely i could cut some fancy logo's out of lexan for you if you want.:wack: just a thought!

saggy clutch!

saggy clutch!
hi guys. when i picked up my z i noticed that the clutch pedal was very soft and saggy and the bitting point was only about 5mm off the floor. i tried bleeding the clutch by releasing the nut on the cylinder on the wing near the headlamp, pumping the pedal, tighten the nut up, then did the the same on the cylinder underneath the car. it got a little bit better but as i was pressed for time i only managed to do it once so i dont think i managed to get all the air out of the system. now this is where it gets weird!!! i've just topped up my power steering fluid as my hicas light kept coming on first thing in the morning when the car was cold. Since i've done this, the clutch pedal seems to have got a bit stiffer and more like a clutch pedal should feel like! why would this be as i can't see that the power steering would be linked to the brakes.... unless its a citreon in disguise!!! is my car weird or is it just me?!?!

strange idling
just fitted the sensor before i left work today and (touch wood) it seems to have solved the problem. no more sitting at traffic lights idling at 2000rpm! one problem down, 99million other minor niggles to go!

strange idling
Just ordered the coolant sensor from mjp. £24.12+v.a.t. and £1 postage. Hopefully this will cure the over enthusiastic idling problem! i'll keep you all posted!

Dodgy handling
i thought that to jimmy, but like i said, it's only a temporary fix to stop me killing myself till i can afford to get the driftworks lock out kit. appreciate the heads up though matey.

Dodgy handling
after searching around for a while trying to find a cheap replacement arm, i found this one on ebay. should hopefully arrive next week. Can't afford the complete lockout kit yet so thought this would be a cheaper option to stop me from killing myself until i can save up to get the lockout kit! here's the link:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-REAR-STEERING-ARM_W0QQitemZ120358833698QQihZ002QQcategoryZ10402QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

strange idling
i noticed on the yellow connector that the spring clamp is missing, so think maybe somebody has had a problem with this in the past. gonna see if i can get one ordered tomorrow. Hopefully it will just be as simple as replacing the sensor, but knowing my luck with cars it's probably gonna be something else! i'll keep you all posted. thanks for all the help guys.

strange idling
tried cleaning the terminals with a bit of emery cloth and squirting some wd40 on them, but don't think its made a s**ts worth of difference. Think i might just bight the bullet and buy one anyway, just to be sure.

strange idling
hey Jimmy, thanks for the reply. any idea how much they are?

strange idling
hey guys, i know this question has been asked a million times before, but i can't seem to find any answers to my problem. I did an ecu error check and it came back with the faulty coolant sensor code (13 i think!). i've tried cleaning the connectors and terminals but doesn't seem to have made any difference. would this cause idling issues? when i start the car from cold, it idles at just shy of 1500rpm then after a while of driving goes down to just below 1000rpm. if i stop the car for a couple of minutes then start it back up, it can idle anywhere between 1500-2000rpm! it'll sit like that for a good while before it eventually settles back down to somewhere near the 1000rpm.... but sometimes it just stays hovering around 1500rpm. on a couple of occasions, i've nipped to the shops (not even a five minute drive... im a lazy bugger and love my z!), turned off the car, come back and started it and again the car jumps up to about 1500rpm then drops all the way down until it's about to stall, then climbs back to somewhere near the 1000rpm mark. It's only done that twice so far, but im begining to think these problems are related. There seems to be no logical pattern to this and it seems to just idle randomly, sometimes its roughly normal, but more times than most its excessively high. can anyone help please as it's rather embarrasing sat at traffic lights with the car idling at 1500rpm-2000rpm!:(

Dodgy handling
just having a look at a well known auction site and found this:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-REAR-HICAS-LOCK-OUT-BAR-DRIFTING-DRIFT_W0QQitemZ170293753081QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item170293753081&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A1%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 is it anygood? im a little confused by this hicas thingy. as far as i can see the track rod screws into the actual hicas rack, so if it screws in, how can there be play at the rack side as thats where mine is loose. sorry for all the questions guys, im still learning. If it was anything to do with an impreza or a celica gt4 then i would know just about every last nut and bolt on them but this is all very new to me!

Dodgy handling
i think to be honest they are the original shocks so that would make them 18 years old nearly, so, methinks they will need replacing..... just got to wait till i can get some cash together. think sorting the hicas out is my first priority as, although it is fun getting the back end snakeing all over the place on hard acceleration, it doesn't really install a lot of confidence when driving round corners! thanks for your input Jeff
