  1. I've done the 200sx vg30dett so keep looking I have had thoughts along the same lines but I think it needs to be proper retro
  2. Boost leak would cause running rich too
  3. Bad, sorry nothing more to add
  4. Just done this job, you can cut the end of the sealant tube in such away that you get an even spread and a high ridge in the middle, I copied it from a guy bonding a screen in :)
  5. Standard system takes clean air before the tubs passes it through the engine and feeds it back through the pcv valves, if your feeding the off takes from the rear into catch can instead of back into plenum your going to have to blank off the front top ones if your wanting to negate the whole pass through system. Your also going to have no way too purge the engine of harmful gasses which Nissan deemed would be bad for oil seals etc bla bla bla. I have run it both ways, it smoked less with pcv's working, but not having any burnt gasses getting back into the intake is a lot cleaner
  6. If your leaving the pcv side of things alone then your going to need to plumb it into the pipework that goes from each turbo intake pipe to the front top of the rockers, good news is you have one each side that you need to break into, these allow excess gas to be shoved back into the intake air while your on boost and the pcv valves are closed, don't know the size of these pipes yet but I'm doing mine soon so if they come up on this thread that would be handy
  7. you can buy a dead Z for very little if you keep your eyes open, then you get a whole car and lots of spares, its cheaper than buying a box and engine.
  8. I'm sure the service manual lists the process for removing both turbo's with engine in situe, having replaced tubs on mine several times now with engine out I would not like to think I had to do it with it in place
  9. Cutting out and rough idle I would check for boost/vacuum leaks first, is it using more petrol than usual ?
  10. You cant ignore the fact they are out on a spacer, if you took it to an extreme and moved them a foot away the twisting force would be huge, its never going to be as good as a single block but hey if folks are happy with them
  11. That would do it
  12. To be honest I wouldn't like that stopping power hanging off those extended tube's
  13. engine and box weigh 320kg, you can lift a complete engine with 2 folk but its not something you want to go far with
  14. mine are nothing like those lol , these are using the evo disks not sure if the 350 and evo disks have the same offset ??
  15. I have the evo brakes but no drawing sorry they are a fairly simple bracket by the looks of them. Change that lol, I actually scanned the brackets before fitting them, I will stick them on photobucket tonight
  16. Your best bet would be to replace the pcv valves and route them through a catch can rather than run them without, they allow air through them on vacuum to purge the block of gases that build up.
  17. The idea is that the extra leverage gained from mounting the calliper further out from the centre and using a bigger disk gives more stopping force even taking the reduced coverage of the pad into account. Not the best upgrade but does give more stopping power.
  18. Think 99spec looks much better
  19. Has any one on here used one of these kits, looking at the OFE Stage 3 kit but never heard of them before ??
  20. I would really sell the s15 box which should get you enough to buy another standard manual, its a design fault on one of the internal retaining clips that makes the box prone to break, if you do a bit of googling it may be worth doing if your intent on doing it, not sure what your fly wheel set up will be as the s15 used a dual mass setup and the zed starter bolts to the side of the gearbox, I'm sure it can be done. The conversion kits to do the swap the other way round are expensive, simple way would be to cut and weld the bell housings together giving you a straight bolt up as long as you keep everything lined up and sort out the length for the input shaft it should not be too bad, you may be better off using bell housing from a manual zed.
  21. Not heard of the s15 box being fitted and I doubt it would last very long its puny in comparison to the zed box, if you look about on the net you will find a few instances of the 350z 6 speed fitted to the 300
  22. I was thinking 2 standard t28's for now as they are cheap and I need to make manifolds etc then upgrade to t28r with bb core later. Also found a hks gt3240 this would mean going single but I'm not adversed to that I'm more keen to avoid huge amounts of lag
  23. Finding it very hard to locate another tdo5 16g, just looking for other options for 500hp without huge amounts of lag, would a pair of t28's be too laggy
  24. If its not oem I would not advise on it being fitted to a car, it was my vg the test one was tried on they are cheap for a reason, the censor set up is different and the spikes are scary
  25. If you think the mot was obtained with the vehicle in an unsafe condition and this has all happened recently you should get a full list of all defects and contact the garage that did the mot, you can then take the car to be examined at your local vosa inspection place, I had a similar problem to this years ago, the car had been given an mot by a friend through an mot station, the car was rotten, contacted the owner of mot station and ended up with half the value of the car back to put it right.
