  1. Have you noticed any increase in power? snx.
  2. Just used the site: http://www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk/ ...and found out there's three mobile phone masts on the bulding where I work, literally a few meters from us! snx.
  3. It's s standard black (Superblack KH7??) and is failry glossy. It just seems a bit OTT calling in a repair company when the damage is so small... I might try those repair kits that come with a stick... Thanks. snx.
  4. Hi All, I've got a tiny paint chip on bonnet where the metal underneath is exposed, but it's only about 2-3mm wide, but annoying nonetheless. Also there are a couple small scratches etc that I want rid off. Any tips on how to get these repaired. I've been looking at Paint Restorers and scratch repair kits, but not sure about these. thanks. sonix.
  5. There's a ZX in the new film 'A scanner darkly' even thought it's psuedo-animated, it's blatantly a zed. Crap film btw. snx.
  6. I used them to get my Zed, overall they were OK, but hard to get a hold of most of the time, and generally very slow at getting things done. I would not recommend them, but then again, not sure if other importers are much better. Also if you get a late zed, make sure it's already got SVA cetificate. (assuming it needs one). snx.
  7. Form what I know, teh Hold button changes gears at lower revs, so in theory it should save some petrol... but it does start from second gear, so you need to floor it a bit to start moving. Do a search as this has been discussed a couple of times at least. snx.
  8. I should be attempting to change the ECU very soon, will let you know how i get along. snx.
  9. Hi, I would recommend that you don't get a '96 model. I imported a my '96 NA about a year ago, and had to fork out another £800 odd quid to get it pas the SVA test because it was less then ten years old. All in all it actually cost me well over £6k 96+ models are harder to chip as it uses a later ECU. (but i believe the whole ECU can be changed, which is what i'm planning to do). Also there may be other little suprises, for example the perpex cover the the dials is actually a different size, though it looks almost identical. Insurance wise imports are more expensive, and a lot of big companies won't touch them. But it depends heavily on where you live. Also, NA's are cheaper to insure (Would've cot me nearly 500 more for a TT). snx.

I saw a bunch of RX-7s parked up on the underground roundabout near Canary Wharf, all from this prowl I assume?? They did look stunning though! Too bad I wasn't in the zed.
  11. Completely true, I'm in East / Central london and recently I got quotes for up to 2 grand, and I'm 28 with 8 years NCB.
  12. Hi all, Am thinking of sellign my zed, but not sure how much it's worth as it's quite a rare spec/age. I spent nearly 7k importing it in late 2004 / early 2005, and I'm the only UK owner. I would like to think that it's worth around 6k, but not sure if that's realistic, as it's a NA auto. Anyway here are the details, comments welcome. ------------------------------------ September 1996 300ZX NA (Series4) Automatic Imported (by me via an agent) in February 2005 Medusa (?) 18” chrome alloys – Very eye-catching, but tasteful, I get a lot of compliments on these. Has got some minor curb-damage on the edges, though i think easily repairable. Unique unknown front bumper (I have never seen this on any other zed). Very good condition inside and out. Daily drive, very reliable, has never given me any problems. Mileage: 108000 KM on the dial, but approx. 75,000 miles. Timing Belt changed at 100000 KM (by nissan according to the badge). Leather Interior Air Con Electric seats (driver’s side 8-Way, passengers side 4-way). Airbag Nissan OEM remote central locking. (Very rare I think) Mods: Apexi Air Filter TT brake discs and up rated brake pads. ICE: JBL rear speakers MP3 Head unit, with USB, SD slot and Ipod / MP3 input. Docs: Japanese auction grade sheet (grade 3.5) SVA tested (at a cost of about £600). Japanese Manuals Tires: Pirelli p7000 fronts (225) Goodyear Eagle F1s Rears (235) Good tread all round. ---- For pics see my rides section. Thanks. sonix.
  13. Hi, My Aerial wasn't working either when I got my car, but when I got the Nissan-ISO connectors (from Ebay i think) and a new stereo, it started working fine. sonix.
  14. Just wondering if anyone else has got the original nissan remote key fob as pictured here: http://www.yugobernie.com/images/JDM_Brochure/?path=./&page=0&img=97_details.jpg I've got one, pretty worn out but works. It's supposed to have boot release button, but it's never worked. in fact i doubt the zed's even got electronic boot release. Anyone got any experience with these fobs? ..also, i was happening u could close the windows with it, but i dont think it's got the functionality...
  15. Got mine yesterday as well, job well done, thanks!
  16. think u need to add alternative/indie
  17. Thanks for that, have just ordered some from: http://www.diytools.co.uk/diy/Main/Product.asp?iProductID=43172 cheers! snx
  18. Good advice there thanks! Might sound silly, but I did think of the wipes idea, used the tesco general car wipes, but they leave streaks. Would be great if the had external car wipes, so u could always have that polished look.
  19. lol, fell for this a few times myself. Whenever it's hot&sunny, give the car a good clean, next thing u know... storms! So now when it's hot and sunny, i just wait for the rain, THEN clean the car. Also getting a car cover is not really an option as it's my daily drive, and would become a hassle. I guess it really is impossible to keep it clean, thing is I see other black cars like beemers etc in my neighbourhood, they dont seem to get dirty as quick. My wife's 2001 Polo (red) ALWAYS look clean and shiny, even when not washed for months... wtf???
  20. EVERY time I spend ages cleaning my car, the very next morning it's got a thin layer of dirt. Doesn't seem to matter which wax I use, what time of year etc. it just looks slightly dirty a few hours after cleaning. This isn't helped by the fact that a tree partially overlooks my parking spot. Just wondering if anyone's got any suggestions... (and no I'm not changing the colour). thanks. snx.
  21. Sorry for sounding dumb, but do u mean 99 Octane is more ressitant or less.. and which is better?? (I've always been using tesco99). snx.
  22. ...via paypal thanks. Do a get a keyring now??
  23. i've been thinking about getting Hi-flow cats as i can't get rid of mine for MOT purposes (96 model), has anyone tried these? and what are the rough costs involved?
  24. yeah.. maybe i shoud've put 'non-zed supercar'... That lambo was seriously LOUD though, kids came running out when it drove by, and at night it was waking the whole neighbourhood.
  25. Went to my cousin's wedding over the weekend, they went a bit OTT with the car hiring... they had a S-Class, 911 Turbo, Bently GT, Ferrarr 360 and a lamborghini murcielago. The lambo completely overshadowed the others with it's presence and engine roar... definately would be the car if would get... anyways, here are some pics.
