...and found out there's three mobile phone masts on the bulding where I work, literally a few meters from us!

you're very safe then mate...more (masts) is better it lowers the wattage required to get a signal....if UK had just 1 mast somewhere in the middle of no-where your mobile would put out more power to reach it
