ive had 2 engines out now on the floor on axle stands quite possible to do. If you are trying to remove the gearbox though to fit a new one make sure you can lift it high enough to get the old box out.

Ok quick one about the above as looking on the search no one has actually posted pics about doing this on a NA engine. From looking at my spare engine pic it looks like simply connecting the 2 red dots together as there is no turbos to cool and the lines simply to go to the plenum and back can someone just confirm this if you have a NA engine out as i sold mine last night and was meaning to check and confirm this. All the other piping then can be deleted making a very tidy engine :)

so who bought it for £330 as he didnt pull the ad so will have to sell it now for that. Oh and he says he will fit it for £400 wouldnt trust my zed in there

ah super cheers so the standard aerial plugs into that as well as the smaller grey one and then that plugs into the stereo?

only one of them will fit the standard aerial connection the other one is way too small

As above i have the blue wire that controls the aerial to make it go up and down plugged in and the aerial works fine however the signal is crap. The aerial is plugged in as normal but there is also a grey wire with a connector on the end attached to it do i need to stick this anywhere? Or is it just the area im in i wouldnt think it should be that bad i can hardly get radio one its all fuzzy and crackly

Managed to get the starter motor on today as one of the last things to do and thought id fire her up :) started with no problems and sounded healthy its such a great feeling as a mechanic to have a new engine in and fire up straight away. The silver shorty now has Bobgenies old 1995 engine in so is very healthy. All i need now is the exhaust gaskets to turn up and AC idler bolt and will be ready for MOT oh plus ive gotta swap out the seats and interior but at least i will be able to get it out the garage and moving

see link Q45 90mm throttle bodies. seen this on ebay and made me wonder. i have asked a few companies about doing 3 piece rims and there is only a handful that will touch them. If they said they would do split rims i would presume they are talking about 2 piece not 3 piece. Best quote ive had so far is £480 for 3 piece rims

what checks do u need to do with the engine out lol aint gonna get far. More like engine is knackered and he cant be arsed with it another one for the scrap heap like the other one on there that says a scrapie has offered him 600 for the car so thats what he is starting at
