  1. Cheers guys, Next time somebody looks at a fuse and says, "Aye, that looks allright" Think again !! :nono: Alan.........
  2. What he says !! Alan.........
  3. As a rough guide to how wide it will be, here are a few pics of my old Zed before, and after a wide botty conversion ! :D No paint as yet, but soon !! Alan......... Before. During.
  4. Sorted !!!! :hyper:  :nana2: :D Told you it would be something stupid ! 2nd row of fuses at the gas pedal, 3rd one in, 10amp. Pulled every fuse and they all looked ok, put them all back in, same problem. Replaced every fuse with a new one, and hey presto, success. Although the fuse wasnt blown, it must have had a crack or something wrong inside, coz after a test with the meter and a test lamp, stil no current going through it ! Looks ok as well ? Still, that passed a weekend, eh ? :o Alan...........
  5. Still doing my head in this one ! Removed the dash, checked all the connections, everything seems to be in order. No loose wires, plugs etc, but still no ignition lights, or indicators, or tacho, fuel gauge etc. Is there a fusible link in the circuit somewhere I might have overlooked ?? Alan.......
  6. LOL, Been posted before, but heres the male brain !! . . . . . . . . . . . . Alan.........
  7. Door handles look really different ! That looks like one of those two minute jobs, that in reality takes days !! Well done mucker, looking forward to the finished pics !! :) Alan............

  9. Cheers Steve, Give me a full day at it tomorrow and I can take it from there. Wonder if I could have dislodged one of the plugs from the back of the dash when I removed the ign barrel loom ?? Alan
  10. Or maybe even try this; 90+ 300ZX Automatic Transmission Self -Diagnostic Procedure. 1. Have the engine at normal operating temperature, in PARK with the overdrive switch on. 2. Start engine. The AT light should go out after 2 sec. 3. Turn the ignition off. 4. Move selector to drive “D” by using the Push Release button. 5. Set overdrive switch to OFF. 6. Wait 2 seconds and turn ignition switch ON.7. Wait 2 seconds and move selector to “2”. 8. Set overdrive switch to ON. 9. Move selector to “1”. 10. Set overdrive switch to OFF. 11. Depress accelerator pedal fully and release it. 12. The codes will begin to flash. There’s one long flash that signifies the start of the sequence.Following should be 10 short flashes. Then it repeats. All 10 flashes the same = No error codes detected. 1st flash longer than others = Revolution sensor is shorted or disconnected. 2nd flash longer than others = Speed sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 3rd flash longer than others = Throttle sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 4th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid “A” circuit is shorted or disconnected. 5th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid “B” circuit is shorted or disconnected. 6th flash longer than others = Overrun clutch solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected. 7th flash longer than others = Lock-up solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected. 8th flash longer than others = Fluid temperature sensor is disconnected or A/T control unit power source circuit is damaged. 9th flash longer than others = Engine revolution signal circuit is shorted or disconnected. 10th flash longer than others = Line pressure solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected. All the same with no long start flash = Battery low, been disconnected, or control unit has just been reconnected. Alan..................
  11. Possible meet coming up if you are interested in August, but back on topic. Would it maybe help disconnecting the battery for a while and see if it resets the g/box ECU ?? Alan.....
  12. Fuse box translation here if you need it ! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=66739&referrerid=3590 Alan......
  13. Had a probe about with the multi meter and of the 5 wires that are in the plug at the ignition barrel, the white one appears to be a live feed and the black with the red tracer is the ignition. When it is switched to the ignition position, the black and red wire goes live, but still no ignition lights, indicators, tacho, speedo etc !! Very strange. Alan.........
  14. OK, managed to reassemble the old barrel and its still the same, so any fuses I might have missed ?? Checked the one in the drivers footwell, and the 2 under the bonnet, any more hiding away ?? Alan..........
  15. pm`d you 2 mins ago mate before I read this, details there ! :D Alan...........
  16. Cheers Andy, Off hand, any idea if you can change the actual barrel complete with the tumblers ?? Could attempt to rebuild the old one and change over the barrel so as the key fits ? LOL, only reason I am changing it, is because I had 3 different keys on my car ! One for the ignition, one for each door, and the old n/a I broke had one key for everything, so thought I would change them all over !! Simple 5 minute job I thought ! :o Should have known better, its a Zed ! :D Alan..........
  17. Ignition barrel on my 89 t/t auto was replaced with one from a 90 n/a. by-passed the two wire switch that fits in the side of the barrel and lets you get it out of park, but no ignition lights ?? Car still starts and runs ok, selects gear etc but no ignition lights. Also, dont know if this is relevant, but the micro switch that lets you release the key is connected, but not fitted, just dangling loose just now as it kept jamming the key and wouldnt allow me to press the release button ?? Checked all the fuses in the drivers footwell, and the 2 fuse boxes under the bonnet, all ok. Almost 100% certain the ignition lights on the n/a car it came from had ignition lights, so would assume the replacement barrel is ok. One last thing, there is also no indicators, and the boost gauge goes straight up as soon as the key is turned to the ignition position, and the fuel pump pressures up ok. Old barrel was held together with cable ties and fell to bits when it was removed, so cant even try the old barrel back on. Any help, most welcome. Alan............
  18. Had a C4 for a while. Fast car, leaky, rattley, and put a big smile on my face ! :D . Any info you need, try here: http://www.corvetteclub.org.uk/ Yup, mine was red ! ;) Alan........
  19. Great car mate, loadsa fun with that !! :hyper: Had several Camaros in my time ! :o Wont be long till you are doing this kinda irresponsible behaviour !! :D Alan......... . . . . . . .Black 85. Red 86. Orange 78. Alan............ :D
  20. As an example, I was selling a C4 Corvette at the start of the year and it needed a couple of tyres on the rear. Wasnt going to fork out on expensive ones just to sell it. Got a pair of Nangkangs, 245/50/16 from Mytyres delivered for £98. Ran the C4 for about a month before I sold it with no problems ! :D Sure it was a wee bit tail happy in the wet, but it was a Corvette !! Drove the car down to Yorkshire to pick up mt current Zed, and gave it some stick on the way down, tyres were no problem. They may not last as long, or be better in the wet than some others, but at the price you are paying, you shouldnt have any complaints. Just my 2p`s worth from somebody who has actually tried them. Alan..............
  21. Fine as is, Maybe some new smilies, Fine job being done ! Erm, thats it !! Is there an echo in here ? ;) Alan........
  22. No worries mate, just wanted to see if anybody was up for it first ! ;) Its a wee bit near summer holiday time, and due to one thing and another, it may not suit some folks. Alan.........
