  1. if it sounds like what you describe then its possibly viscous van? I had a duff blade on mine which flexed too much and would skim along the wiring for the coolant temp sensor etc. Worth checking anyway.
  2. yeah i got it sorted now. Thought it had warmed up enough for the thermostat to open but oviously not. cheers for the help.
  3. erm, i don't know tbh. I know theres a bleed on the rad which i've tried, but don't remember seeing one anywhere else though. I'll have to go have a look and tinker i think. cheers
  4. I've just had my engine out over xmas and fitted new turbos as passenger side was blown. Anyway, i've got it all back in now and running fine, but when i had the car on idle while i was sorting a few little bits out the temp started to creep above midway where it would normally sit. I tried putting the heating on inside aswell and its freezing cold! Is it just something simple like an airlock and just needs bleeding or could it be something more? Im hoping its simple as it was always fine before i pulled the engine! any help appreciated, thanks
  5. my light did exactly the same thing mate. I looked around on ebay for people breaking z's and found someone whos car had been in a front end smash, luckily (for me) the lights were broken anyway and they unscrewed the whole bulb mount and sent it to me for free. Might be worth you trying the same?
  6. ok thats excellent. means i can have my car useable again until money permits my rebuild and proper turbos (if i ever get round to it! lol) thanks for the help mate, grateful 2 ya!
  7. would the turbos off an auto fit and work properly with a manual? i know its probably not ideal, but its only as a temporary solution while my engine and turbs are rebuilt and until of course money permits! any help would be appreciated! thanks
  8. i did this couple weeks ago when i was rewiring everything (last idiot cut the wires!) my panel is also missing, but iirc its 2nd fuse in on top row? its 10A so it'll be red anyway hope this helps (and hope i remembered the right 1! lol)
  9. ok well if its not actually boosting at all as you say, then why does the gauge read 5-6 psi and you can hear the dumpvalve dumping? surely it won't dump if theres nothing to dump??? and why does the piping that side go hard when revving it up? when i say revving, i don't just mean slowly increasing revs i mean pumping the throttle to the floor and nearly hitting the limiter. tbh i only posted on this thread to try and help someone out by saying what i did to find, not to have everyone tell me that what my car does can't happen and basically get called a liar. I won't bother trying to help in future!
  10. no i just used the feed off the i/c so i could get a reading before it equalised the pressure on the inlet manifold, the gauges aren't fixed, just used 1 in to see if it showed which side wasn't spooling. I only mentioned the turbos being uprated in response to not be able to hit positive pressure when stationary, im quite aware that the inlet will never see any pressure
  11. well mine was reading 0 on passenger side and hitting around 5-6 psi on the driver, plus dumpvalve that side was goin off, but not other. So i'd say mine must be kicking in, they are stage 2 turbo technics though so maybe thats why?
  12. i've got the same problem with mine at the minute. mine is passenger side turbo, but luckily the turbos are under warranty still so should hopefully be sorted foc (minus pulling engine). the way i found out which 1 it was, was to just pull the actuator feed pipe off the i/c and pop a boost gauge on an give it a lil rev. anyway, hope u get it sorted mate
  13. cheers guys, appreciated. i got a profec b specII off ebay for £170 in the end
  14. thanks guys. just had a look round e-bay and found greddy profec b for around the £220-£250 mark, does that price sound about right or do you know of anywhere cheaper? cheers
  15. i'm looking at getting an electronic boost controller can anyone recommend a good one which isnt to expensive. Also the same with a turbo timer thanks
