Engine misfire/cylinder not firing...Advice needed please
You could try the "My car is not a standard car and most garages will not touch them, it needs to go to a zed specialist", you never know..

Engine misfire/cylinder not firing...Advice needed please
That's a bugger then. But seriously it is worth pushing your car that mile to get them to sort you out. I had to do it on my oil burner when it broke down at home and I didn't have home start. Pushed the car about a mile away and called them out. They took me to the garage of my choice without any problems.

Push the car one mile from your home and then give them a call. Simples..

do swb decats/front pipes fit a LWB?
You "might" have a problem putting manual decats on an auto due to the oilpan on the autobox. It's nothing that can't be fettled into place though. You might also have to do away with the exhaust hangers on the gearbox. I've got japspeed decats and they don't fit the box mounts at all. easily solved by cutting the mounts off the exhaust and un bolting the gearbox exhaust mounts (MOT may complain if left). The exhaust will still be solid and not move about much, so no need to worry.

lol. What are you using as a top bud?

Testing coil packs?
You can check the resistance on the bench but don't think you can really check anything else. Might be wrong though :)

starting issue
The tps (Throttle Position Sensor) is a little black box on the side of the passenger side throttle body. It's a potentiometer that lowers resistance when the throttle is opened. When closed the voltage is around 0.44v and opening the throttle turns the sensors pot which allows more voltage to pass. This is read by the ECU and used to identify the throttle position. Problems arrise when the base voltage is set to low or high, when this happens the ECU can't adjust the fuel air mix correctly for how far open the throttles are. This gives you problems when idling etc.. A volt meter will tell you what voltage the tps is set at when closed and it can be adjusted by simply undoing the screws and rotating the TPS left or right by small amounts. Keep doing this until the voltage reads a steady 0.44v. Once the voltage is correct you will need to reset the the tps by unplugging the lead for 10 seconds with the engine running. Once the TPS is correctly set then you can move on to the IAA or the Idle Air Adjustment valve at the back of the engine on the passenger side. There is a screw head on the valve facing the battery, unplug the yellow connector on the valve and adjust the screw until the revs are at 750rpm. When done plug the yellow connector back in and the revs should then increase as the ECU takes over. Once the engine is at running temp the rpm should drop back down to 750. Do all this with the engine running. HTH mate :)

Suggestion for Members' trading
Agreed. Buyer pays the fee. I know that this would upset some members on here but I can't see any other way.

FAO:- Mr. Chris Bower
Why would you allow him to sell a car though, knowing his history of letting people down? That's what I can't understand..

FMIC - water temps?
Blimey! didn't think you'd be losing as much as that. Still better than the 300 odd you would lose if the engine overheated though. lol
