NZR - How easy is it to change an Almera timing chain?
Yeah it must be an N16 then as it's a 1.5 petrol with a chain.. If it don't start with a z I ain't interested

Strange steering issue....
Don't know then bud, after what Jeff had said it did seem like the rack bushes but if they're ok then it must be somewhere else..

Strange steering issue....
Did you get a pry bar in there to check for movement? The passenger side is very easy to get at, so it's worth un bolting the bracket and taking the bush out for inspection. Must warn you tho' the drivers side is one of the most annoying jobs you will ever have to do on the zed, unless the engine is out..

NZR - How easy is it to change an Almera timing chain?
I had a good read through the haynes and to be honest it looks a right pig of a job and as he needs it quickly (i'm very slow but thorough :)) He's going to get the garage to do it.. Thanks for all the advice lads and it's definitely a 1.5 Graham, I've probably given the wrong model number.. :)

NZR - How easy is it to change an Almera timing chain?
As above - My dad's Almera needs a new timing chain and the garage are looking at charging him over £600 for the privilege. I think it's something I could do a damn sight cheaper than that. I've done my zeds timing and as you know that's a quad cam v6, so my thinking is that a duel cam 4 pot should be a lot easier to do. Is there anything I need to be aware of etc...? I've only got the Haynes manual to follow so any advice or tips would be great. Almera is a 1.5s (think it's an N15 model)

Radio Controlled cars.
So true mate. Building flying model planes is my bag though. From vintage rubber powered all the way up to R/C, love them all.

Radio Controlled cars.
Nowt wrong with that mate, its such a shame that Model shops are so few in numbers now :( I used to spend hours as a kid looking at the models in my local shop in Melton Mowbray, long gone now of course. Keep up the good work.

It should be going to the engine bay matey, but probably just tucked in under the box.

Manual conversion and high idle?
Yep sure do, just make sure you cut the wire not splice into it. You only want it going to the switch.
