The problem is we don't control the supply of oil. We have a very meagre amount from the North Sea and generally was was too good a quality to be used for fuel. LPG will also go up in price along with petrol/diesel - Isn't it a by product ?

I have heard about this being done on before on other engines and to be honest it should be absolutely fine if all the pistons are the same weight. It does seem a waste of an opportunity to not hone all the barrels and fit new rings throughout though.

It's only the Jap imports that are not explicitly listed and therefore have a non-Cat test for the MoT. It is of course illegal to remove the cats from any car that was built with them - but nobody cares about that !
