  1. ... going though my village in Essex this afternoon. Thought someone had nicked mine !!!!!!!!
  2. There is a tech article on it somewhere, Robbo's site in the US or TwinTurbo .net I think, that will tell you have to test the solenoids too. make suer you get all the electrical connections sure clean while it's off and do the plugs too. MJP will have a new gasket, you might be able to reuse the old one with a bit of gasket goo.
  3. Could be that the idle control valve is sticking. You will need to remove it (4 x 10mm bolts), but they're a bit of a fiddle to get to. Then take the assemble apart and clean it, test the solenoids etc.
  4. To be honest it's not an easy reach, all hinges on the ratchet being the right length really ...
  5. Thanks and Welcome !
  6. If you're got long arms you can get to them without jacking the car up. I usually just drive the front o/s wheel onto a 4" block of wood.

  8. They go straight to the ECU, pin numbers 101-106 or something like that. The traction control install instructions always point them out.
  9. Is this when performance was good or bad ? If it was good at this time, then can you post another when it was bad.
  10. In that case you probably have a cabling fault somewhere. Also possible that your router is faulty. A decent BT engineer ought to be able to sort it out. I'll have a word with my mate to see if there are any 'special' actions that can be taken on their part.

  12. Do you have any neighbours or friends locally on the same service who would be served from the same exchange ? If so compare performance with them.
  13. It's a forum setting that is supposed to change all caps messages into more intelligable text, doesn't always seem to work though.
  14. On the 8Mb service the hubs have to learn and adapt to the line, so it's not utter BS. This came from a mate of mine who is on the 8Mb ADSL service & development team.
  15. Surely there must be some European regulation about how long it's safe to keep beer in your glass.
  16. The problem with life today is that the only consistent thing that you can guarantee is that there will be changes. I may have to go over the pub tonight just to check that they still sell beer. And if they do then I guess it needs drinking before it goes off ....
  17. Yup, that's the part numbers I used.

  19. If the MAF has failed completely then in theory the car won't rev above 2400rpm, which is the safety get-you-home mode. Doubt whether the CAS could fail in a way which would cause this - it's a simple device with a couple of LEDs and a rotating disc with slots cut in it (much like the old trigger systems on a Piranah ignition system).
  20. Actually, I wouldn't rule that out entirely. If one coil is starting to break down then that symptom will most likely show under max load, so foot flat down at max rev's it's a possiblity.
  21. Yes, almost certainly no EGR on a Series II car. Concentrate on the airflow sensor for now.
  22. Nope, not at high revs, once again closed loop system, it just blows hell out the engine if you don't hear the det yourself.
  23. O2 sensors won't make that much difference at high revs, closed loop system etc.
  24. I'd like to make a guess ! ;)
  25. There's always a bit of mix 'n' match around the changeover periods from one model to another. Mine was the same as it's early Series II but had some less obvious Series I parts.
