  1. all the fuses are fine (well the ones in the foot well and the ones behind the headlight are, iv not checked the loops next to the BMC, where is the PAS fuse actually? well anyway, it happened instantly at a bdc licensing day, the only thing i will say is there are 2x steering rack spacers in each end in between the arm and the rack (to improve lock) however iv done this to most of my nissans and this hasn't happened to any of them.
  2. disconnected the de-limiter, still no power steering :( is there something on the rack that could be damaged or un plugged?
  3. ok, so its a small box right? ill disconnect it and try the steering :)
  4. where does it take the speed signal from? i just finished prepping it for the mot this week (completely unrelated) but look how pretty she still is! :D
  5. no, it doesn't leak anywhere, it feels like its trying to to work but struggling, i dont have a spare one handy no, its NA too so i imagine id need an NA rack unless they are interchangeable?
  6. Power steering stopped working so being a prat I assumed it was he pump so replaced it.... It's still not working :( what else could it be?? It's a 92 imports manual NA converted to TT.. It failed whilst under heavy load at a drift event /:
  7. The tt rad is important as it won't fit otherwise, but mines just metal zip tied in place ;) non of this z1 stuff, I'm still waiting for parts off them I ordered in 2008 lolz
  8. have done, seems they are very hard to come by, took the pump off, and took it appart expecting to see something but it all seemed fine, hope it is the pump thats died, cant think what else it could be, it looks like a mirror image of the CA18det pump, so very nearly the same just the other way around, are they shared with any other car/engine? or did nissan genuinely make this 1 pump for this 1 engine variant..
  9. £500 for the ecu, engine, intercoolers turbos and pipework, £100 for the greddy profecb sII (ebc), and then the gearbox had to be grinded out at the bottom to fit the TT paddle clutch that was £300, work we did in 48 hours (pretty much non stop) over a bank holiday weekend in my mates garage :) was to tired at the end to drive.
  10. my na blew up after 100k, bottom end became starved, did a tt swap and left the NA engine round the back of my house for 1 week, pikes stole it, must be worth £50 scrap at least..
  11. Ahhh crap... Where can I get another NA pump? eBay seems to have nothing :(
  12. I have an na shell with a tt engine in it. When I did the swap I used the na power steering pump. Now the pump is shagged, can I use a tt one? If so what do I do about the extra lines that go to the hicas? I'm doing this job tonight so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Alex :)

First off, I love my car again, iv fixed almost everything that made me hate it ;) anyway, the pump failed at the bdc under epic load :( It's a TT, manual, in an NA shell (ie no hicass or hicas pump etc) the TT engine was/is running an NA powersteering pump, it's dead. Iv got a TT powersteering pump, will it work? There are 3 pipes coming off it? Does one of them need blanking off or recirculating etc? Thanks

Before the new engine it ran with blocked off recercs (I know it's stupid) and now there are no recerc vac pipes there just missing now and blanked off on the plenum side, should the recercs vac pipes be blanked off then (I know giving advice to an idiot that's blanked off his recercs is asking alot)
  16. The boost gauge is connected to the balance bar, it's Reading no more than 12psi no matter what I set the greddy profec b spec 2 too by unregulated like it would run upwards of 2 bet etc?
  17. Let's say one of the pipes that went to the actuators fell off (just one) what would the boost read? Would it run at all?

  19. Engine oil = 10.40's semi syth how many ltr's? gear oil, how many ltr's? Power steering fluid, how many ltr's? Any recomendations? (search won't work on my phone so sorry againg for my force ignorence)
  20. Sort of, iv got the red wire in ok but I'm still unsure where the smaller black wire was meant to go so I earthed it to the chassis of the alternater... Might be wrong but it looked like that's what it wanted to do thanks guys :)
  21. Where does it go to? There are two rings, first goes to the chassis second goes to the..... gear Box bolt? Engine bolt?
  22. I'm currently in the pit under the car typing this on my iPhone trying to fit the altenator wiring harnis, on the back of the altenator there is a 2 pin plug and a lug to attatch a ring wire. However the harnis seems to have to 'ring end' wires on it which wire goes to the lug on the back of the altenator? Why are there two? Do they both go to the lug? On is slightly larger than the other I know it's late but any help asap or a diagram would be great thanks
