Agreed, there ARE big things in life that are more important than a simple car crash. However, at THIS point in his life, he has just crashed his car and therefore is upset about it - a not very surprising reaction. At the end of the day, yes, it's just a lump of metal and plastic (with some leather and alcantara thrown in for good measure) but it's also something that we spend a lot of time with and money on. This isn't the run of the mill Micra or Ford (Cossies excepted), it's a (getting rarer) supercar. If Spezer had hurt anyone or if something more tragic had occured and let's hope it doesn't, then yes, this would pale into insignificance beside a death or whatever but for goodness' sakes, accept his story for what it was - a need to share his feelings and thoughts with other like-minded individuals. If all you can do is slate him for being upset, then please stop saying it.

:nono: Bit uncalled for, MickG. Spezer wasn't exactly bewailing the end of the world - he'd just had an accident and was understandably upset at crashing his car. A little sensitivity wouldn't go amiss. Spezer - know how you feel - your Zed probably will be a write-off, unfortunately, but hopefully just a C-Class one, which means that you can get it back and mod it to the hilt. :) Glad you're ok. Keep us updated with what happens. :)

You can still pay cash on the day, if that's easier for you. It just makes it quicker on the day if everyone has paid - we can get straight onto the rollers without worrying about paying people. :) Cybernet & Jock - received your cheques today and I'll post them off to Thor Racing this morning.

LOL...I can honestly state that I didn't have an accident for the first 7 years of driving. :p But to be fair, as a learner driver on today's roads, it's more than likely he will prang it. Not necessarily crash it, but bump it into something as he learns the car's dimensions. And note use of "more than likely". Means it's not certain, but has a greater chance of happening than not. :p

He is more than likely going to prang this car, so a reliable cheap runabout will be less painful to hit than a car that's already costing upwards of £2K in insurance. It's only for a year or so to get some NCB to his name and then he can start to upgrade.
