Car Violently Shakes Under Braking
It may be your rear disks, especilly if the car has been stood with the handbrake on for a while. I had a judder on my supra, changed the front disks and it was still there, took it to a garage and the fella drove it 50yrds and confidently stated rear disks and was correct.

I cant get my wheel off
So improvise eh, i dont need to take them off atm, just thinking ahead to if/when i get a puncture.

Ive got large hexagonal nuts (:nelson:) that keep the hub/cover on and the spanner is a plastic ring spanner but it doesnt fit. Ive been round all the local places and they dont know where to get these spanners. The nut is 75mm across and the only spanners ive seen are 60mm and 80mm. Any idead where i can get one??

What a cu^t! Glad your both ok. I have noticed since getting the z that every pratt with a big bore exhaust or ridiculous spoiler wants to race, i just leave them to it but that doesnt stop them driving like idiots.

If hes put the effort and attention to detail into the car like he has the advert then i would imagine its a beuty. I do wonder though if hes not overstating the performance just a little, he's claiming 400bhp on standard turbo's with just an ecu upgrade and boost jets, is that likely?

Wow my zed is eating petrol.
Im getting about 60 miles for £30, thats about 10mpg, but living where i do most of my driving is on windy roads and short journeys. I dont drive like a leadfoot either (well maybe sometimes).

Well none the wiser at the moment but it did seem to sort itself out after afew miles. I dont think ill worry about it unless it causes a problem. Thanks to dan for hooking it up to the laptop and adjusting the tps slightly it appears to have a clean bill of health:hyper: Good stuff, nice day for petrol burning i rekon.

Right, no nissan hut.;) Ive been to richards bros afew times, they know what they doing but you get some pretty amazing bills from them:( I found the idle controll valve eventually but the clicking noise is coming from right next to the brake servo, im wondering if its a loose connection or even if its related atall. Im just loafing about today not doing much, if one of you guys has got 5 mins to take a look that would be great(assuming it still drives ok).

Alright folks, had my zed for about a month and here it is. And you've probably guessed its an idle proble. I have done a search and read loads of old threads. It started with what i thought was a tiny rattle but with the bonnet open it appears to be coming from the engine bay closest to the driver next to the brake servo whatsit. It will click very rapidly and the revs will rise then the clicking stops and the revs fall again. From what i can gather it probably the idle control valve but i was under the impression that was on the passenger side? Also, for those guys from my neck of the woods where do you take your z when its poorly? I seem to remember there is a place in hayle, the nissan hut? are they reasonable/any good? Thanks.

yep, an escort for me as a work and back car. Walk past the z everymorning / evening and think "it was worth what i paid for it just to have the privelage of looking at it".

I used to get around 17mpg in my stage 2 200sx but that car liked to be caned. I thought that that was thirsty till i got the 300 zx, im getting about 60 miles for £30 which is about 11mpg:o But they are enjoyable miles:D

My motor only seems to boost to 0.5 bar, would that be because its detecting det and going to safety boost? My understanding is that standard boost would be 0.6 bar. Im guessing thats because ive been putting normal unleaded in it,does that sound about right? I have done the paper clip routine and the light is flashing code 55 (nothing wrong).

Yeah mine is an import but is running standard boost atm, i guess ill start with the 97 ron fuel next time i fill up. Most of my journies are short 5 - 15 miles so i expected it to be thirsty. I would like to see what it does on a longer run, if its dry on the weekend i might just go for a decent spin and find out.

Am i to assume then that if you have an import then you should be using higher ron than 95?? And whilst were on the subject, my auto tt is doing no more than 12mpg at the moment. I havent been on a decent length drive but im hopeing it will do more than that. Does that sound about right??

Had the z about 3 weeks and im used to the standard speed now, need just a little more. When i bought the car it had a boost controller in the boot not plugged in. It looks a bit ancient but being hks id imagine it was still able to do the job. It was originally mounted in the glove box and ive managed to locate one of the connections but i was hopeing one of you guru types would know wether or not i need to plug both in? It doesnt appear to have power with just the one wire in so i assume i need to locate the other plug. I dont know wethere or not its had any map or ecu or turbo upgrade so ill just be running 12psi and from what ive read on here i gather thats not a turbo killing level of boost.
