There is a forum specifically for the mk3, I used to be on there when i had one of those cars and they saved me a hell of a lot of time and money with the advise i got. I never had the problem your getting so wouldnt know what to suggest but I would deffo have another one of those motors if i could find a decent one, nicest car ive owned to drive and thats including the z!!

Hi folks, need a bit of advise if you could. I just got a new runaround motor and have a couple of questions. Firstly it needs some oil, its a skoda fabia 1.4 petrol, ive got some 10w/40 oil hanging around would that do?? Also it has a scuff that i would like to tidy up but i cant find the paint code, ive looked in the engine bay but cant find the plate with the code on, any ideas?? Thanks

Top geezers, thanks for the quick response. I had a car that had that problem mikey b, that car was left in some pretty rediculous places till the morning i can tell you! I think we have a winner, jeffs suggestion of the not being in park may have been the one. Hi there, just drove my car back from work and it was going fine, parked up for about 2 hours and went to start it an dit was completely dead. Dash lights come on as normal but when i turn the key there is nothing!! The only noise was a on and off buzzing noise that appeared to be coming from the valvel for the boost controller. I have disconnecterd the power to that and gthe buzzing has gone but there is still nothing. There isnt even that ticking noise that you associat ewith a flat battery. I have had my jump starting pack on there and that made no difference so im fairly confident we can rule out a flat battery. The bugger of it is that its parked in the way of my other car and someone elses!!! One thing though, when i turn the key a light comes on. Its the third from the left, looks like a box with a couple of wavy lines. Unsurprisingly it doesnt appear to be in the owners manual... ggrrrrrrrrrrr!! thanks

right so it depends on the model of car what gear you do it in? When they did my 200sx the guy got it into 5th under 30mph and then floored it, i thought it would be the same for all manuals. And you use the hold button on the auto to keep it in the gear you want it?? I never use the button on mine ever, might as well not be there.

So when you rolling road a manual you bung it in 5th and bury your foot right? Well how do you go about it with an auto? I know its a dumb question but there you go.
