  1. HAVE ALREADY PM ED SMITHY. DOING THE WORK MYSELF, OWNING MY OWN GARAGE AN ALL, TAKING ENGINE OUT JUST SOUNDS TRICKY WAY OF DOING IT! THATS NORMALLY MY LAST RESORT!!
  2. hey guys i know this is a frequently asked question, have done forum search but cant find exact answers! so hear goes! my jap spec tt has done 60.000 miles now! have been getting intermittant blue/white smoke from both banks, mainly on idle and have been told a load of c==p comes out the back when i boot it! its as it someone drips a v small amount of oil into exhaust!! 2 months ago took balance pipe off to find alot of oil in manifold! so i changed pcv valves and hose to go to each one! but also de=catted at the same time!!!!! smoke still seems to be no better, if any thing now more constant, is there any thing else to check before i get some turbo's???? if its turbos can they really be done in situ, i would rarther struggle and do them in place! looks like if i remove steering rack and lower column i should be able to get to them! are hybrid tubs any bigger boddied than standard?? looking for good spool up and running 400 bhp approx, would the cheaper 1-2 stage tubs be good??? sorry for long message and all the questions just need to get it right first time! cheers for any help guys!!!!!! :bow:

  4. if i an get camera working ill post some pics to confirm! if i can get goo off i can fit socket, so i can interchange, mines-SE jwt and jd mod chips to my hearts content!!!! should i stick with mines if goo wont budge??? :hyper:
  5. THERE NO SOCKET JUST CHIP INTO BOARD! BUT AS I UNDERSTAND IT THIS IS HOW MINES FIT THERE CHIPS! EG NO SOCKET AND LOTS OF GOO!

  8. ive just taken the back off the ecu the main chip that you normally change is plastered in lots of yellow sealer! doesnt look like all the other soldered chips!! is this good or bad news?

  10. hi guys! in preperation for fitting ecu chip and avc-r controller i thought i would take ecu out and have a look at what int entails! its a nissan ecu but theres a plaque on the back saying mines guarantee and :confused: seal stickers saying mines too! is this standard?????? what does the adjuster on side of ecu do???? any help gratefully recieved! steven
  11. hi guys there are 2 types of anti-freeze; blue/green is G11 which is used for all cars up to about1995/1997, pink is G12 which is used for newer cars the difference is the blend and anti-corrosive properties! they state these shouldnt be mixed but if only small quantity its not a prob!! hope that helps!

  13. is the standard boost gauge electrical or mechanical? if mech can i just link after market gauge to it? or am i better off getting elecv with decent sender? has anyone had any problems etc with revotec gauges??? thanks for any helpo steven :dance:

  17. im looking to upgrade engine and gearbox coolers on jap spec tt! would a z centre upgrade where the engine cooler is then used for the gearbox be ok if im looking to run 350 to 400 BHP any help gratefully recieved!

  19. really cant decide between carbon bonnet or buying 2nd oem one and fitting z centre power bulge!!! both would look good on black car and once fitted and painted dont think theres much diff in price!!!!!! can anyone help!!!!:rolleyes: :dance: :( :)

HEY GUYS im after a bit of upgrade advise! i know its all been asked before but still cant make up my mind! currently running jap spec tt auto blitz sus induction kit custom de-cat pipes scorpion cat back system! have an AVCR boost controller ready to fit! but need to get ECU chip, gant decide between SE or JWT! WHERE CAN I GET THESE CHIPS? looking to fit controller etc myself so idealy need a pre programmed chip until i get it set up on dyno! are the standard recirculating valvrs up to the job??? any help gratefully recieved cheers people :dance:
