great minds eh Paul:) I think the only way of checking is to plug a known good one in. Where abouts are you? maybe there's someone close to you who has a spare.................. Vijay

missfire
hello, Yep that's your ptu, it send signals to the coilpacks. I'm pretty certain that would be the cause. Check for broken wires/bad connector........if not you might have to try a known good one to see if that sorts it out. If you need to buy one, get it from courtesy in the states - much cheaper. Vijay

Z Info
Just a thought, have a look at the ones sold by members here. As someone said on another post, you can do a search and see what problems they've had with the car. You've got more chance of buying a gooden from someone on here I would imagine............. Good luck. Vijay

Wiring
I have to sort of agree with Paul here. It's something you should learn to do yourself. I personally clean and lubricate all the contacts at least once a year. The problem with the heat under the bonnet can cause nightmares as well as connectors coming loose, so it gives you the chance to check them all over............... I thought the bill would be more than £130 for a good auto electician, so that sounds like a good place to go if you don't want to D.I.Y. Vijay

300z-wrecked!
Hello John, When you mentioned the chip and boost controller, I had a thought about people who might not tell their insurance about these things. Out of no fault of your own some little sh**es hit you and do a runner, the insurance find things that are not declared, then to top everything off your insurance would be void..............................just something for people to think about.......... Glad to hear your OK mate and good luck with the insurance!! Vijay

Gio mate, no probs. Your totally right in what you've said. The only benefit is the £10-15 pound back which would go back into the forum........................I just hoped I could get something better. Still got a few numbers to call, so will do that and then post again :) Vijay
