  5. Hi Donald, I'm not too far away from you, I live near Brent Cross. I personally wouldn't take my car to a main dealer around here. Last week my nearest main dealer told someone they had to pull the engine to change the water pump:eek: I've got a mechanic who's ex Nissan and owns a Z who works on my car, I could ask him if you want? Vijay
  6. Hello Mike, You remove the AFM and plug this in. Pump it with a tyre inflator and you should be able to hear any hissing. This is a quote from an Aus site: "find and rectify boost/ vacuum leaks and regain lost power, many owners have been surprised to find air leaks and in some cases these vacuum leak/s can be causing unstable idle. This devise is used via the removal of your AFM (air flow meter) and the insertion of the intake plug in it's place. Once secured you add compressed air into the valve pressurising your engine and then check for air leaks and correct accordingly". Vijay
  7. this is it fitted but not all the way in
  8. I've got a local engineering comapany to make me one of these up and wondered if anyone else is interested in them. The only thing I have asked them to change, is the size of the flange so you have something to pull the thing out, as it's a snug fit. If anyone is interested, they're £20 plus what ever the shipping cost is.
  9. Hello Mike, lol - I had this and it was driving me mad. The actual switch is in the locking mechanism itself. I took mine to bits and it still did the same thing, it turn out to be the drivers side door needed adjusting in as it wasn't closing the switch all the time. Vijay

Hello Daz Might be an idea to check/clean the temp sensor. Vijay
  11. I just ordered 3 quarts of the stuff for my gearbox. Vijay
  12. good point, the heatshield is a PIA. Vijay
  13. lmao - I did the same thing!!! Vijay
  14. very easy, just jack up (and support) the drivers side and it's very easy to remove/put back. Mine started to do that and i found that the threads had been stripped - PIA to sort out. Vijay
  15. if interested I have a local company making one up that will fit in where the AFM goes. I'll post a pic when they've done it. Vijay
  16. Simon, Just be aware that the stock temp gauge is crap. It will sit at "normal" temp and if it overheats will suddenly shoot up to max in a matter of seconds giving no real warning. It might be worth considering some aftermarket gauges. Vijay
  17. Here's their email address if that's any help - sales@bsr-aerotek.com Vijay
  18. well the gauges are known for being crap, which doesn't help you if you do have a problem. Vijay
  19. Cheers Aaron. Vijay

  23. lol- they are the last dealers I took my car to and they did a crap job!!!! Would it help if I spoke to this guy if he needs a good mechanic? Vijay
