  3. Just rang Carole Nash for a classic car quote and they told me they don't insure any cars with mods:rolleyes:  Apart from Norton and Carole Nash, does anyone know of anyome else who does classic insurance? Cheers Vijay

  5. Hi Jim, This is what I would do personally. 1. Measure the resistance of the det sensor circuit to check if it's definetly the sensor that's at fault. 2. To double check it is the sensor, you can use a mega ohm resistor to see if the code 34 stops. I would not personally leave the resisitor in place but adrress the problem if your sensor is 100% at fault. Here's details of how to do the above - http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/detonationSensor/detonationSensor.html Vijay
  6. and the price is?............................... Vijay
  7. Postcodes will make a huge difference. I've been told I live in a high risk area, so they basically doubled the premium. Classic seems the way to go. Vijay
  8. As Srrae says, that's the easiest place. If you remove the plastic arch liner, you'll see where it comes through. NO need to drill any holes, they're already there :) Vijay
  9. Hello Jim, Did you try cleaning the connector? Vijay

  11. Jim, Code 34 means the det sensor circuit has failed, not that your car is detting. I don't see how changing/gapping the plugs would repair your circuit. Sounds more like it's an intermitent problem. Vijay
  12. if it's intermitent, try cleaning the connector - worked for me. Vijay
  13. Ben, That looks like it's from a Z31. Roy, Give Mike Feeney a call to sort one out. Vijay
  14. Hello Jim, Try cleaning up the det sensor connector contacts - worked for me :) Vijay
  15. And me, UK manual. Vijay
  16. Your ecu will be in it's learning mode so it'll take a few hundred miles before everything settles down :) Vijay

Hello Graham, Not got round to fitting them yet and they're standard indiglo (6 or 8 colour changeable - can't remember which). Vijay
  18. not sure to be honest. I suppose a large enough G clamp could work.......................................... Vijay
  19. The problem I have is that I'm looking at buying a Sierra Estate this weekend and I need to get it taxed, so I need insurance. I'm going to stick my Z on a classic insurance when it runs out in December but the real problem is using my no claims on the Sierra. I rang my insurance company to see if they could quote me on the Sierra and mirror the no claims - yes they said, that'll be just over £1000:eek: The only choice I see is that I cancel my policy on the Z now and put it on a classic scheme, this'll free up my no claims discount so I can call round for a better quote on the Sierra - any other ideas??? Cheers Vijay
  20. if you have a large vice, you can press them in yourselves. Vijay

  22. Hi, Just wondering how the insurance companies decide what a classic car is for insurance? Vijay
  23. I thought this could happen if you still had air in the system............................ Vijay
