  2. have you made sure the connectors on the PTU are all bright and clean. I helped a member with the same problems and it was the connectors. Vijay
  3. I've asked Eric (Lymon) this exact question before and I've just dug up the mail :) When I pull a plenum I usually bypass/remove all waterhoses and gaskets under the plenum/throttlebodies and bypass the EGR by capping off the holes under the plenum and the pipes coming from the EGR. I also replace the "hard to reach" hoses (water/fuel) with high quality silicon hoses instead of rubber and it's also a good time to replace the fueldamper and regulator and all fuelhoses/clamps and give the injector connectors and throttlebodies a good clean. I usually also remove the AAC valve, take it apart and clean that as much as possible. With the engine out, check all freezeplugs for corrosion/rust and replace if needed. Usually the rubber engine mounts don't survive the removal, so you might want to have new ones ready for when the engine needs to be reinstalled. I usually replace the steeringrack rubbers, since you have good access to these with the engine out. Check the engine/oilpan for signs of oil leaks and replace/fix (with new gaskets, seals, etc.). Also very important: check the oilpan for dents before installation ! It very often happens that the oilpan gets dented (when the engine sits on the floor or during removal), which often causes oilpump pickup problems and this leads to low or NO oilpressure. If you do have to remove the oilpan for gasket replacement or dent removal, also clean the oilpump pickup filter/mesh. Other possible things to replace/check with engine out: -clutch/throwout bearing -check flywheel for cracks and teeth on the gear ring -installation of downpipes and/or replacement of O2 sensors -replacement of gearbox mounts

  15. I agree with a total ban. Me personally I don't see the point of having 1 or 2, so if I have the car I just don't touch alcohol. The problem is driving the next day after a drink. Again, I don't touch the car the next day after a good drink but I know I have in the past and would have probably still been over the limit.
  16. just above the EGR could be the the det sensor connector and one of the o2 sensors. Are the connectors identical? Vijay

Yep, sounds like PTU failure. Vijay
  21. right, this is what I would do. Forget any diagnostic guy who doesn't know 300's. I would disconnect the battery for at least an hour and let the ecu reset everything. Then start her up and see if you get any codes without driving. If you get codes, post up on here. If not take her for a drive and then see if you get any codes. Sort one problem (error code) at a time. I'm sure with the help from everyone on here, your problems will be sorted out :) Might be an idea to get your subscription in ;) Vijay
  22. I just went and saw my chemist again about the tablet form and this really annoyed me. The vets want £160 for 30 tablets, the chemist charge £72 for 90. Are they a joke or what!!!! £20 membership for this club - best £20 I've ever spent!!!!! Vijay
  23. I really want to thank you guys. Just went and spoke to my chemist who told me it would cost about £15 to get this medication. I've called the vets and the nurse said she didn't know about private presciptions - BO***cks!!!! I'm gonna go and see them in the morning to tell them exactly what I think of them!! How can they mark it up by that much - £15 compared to £37 and thats for one bottle and I'll need at least 2-3 per month (if the lowest dosage works). Robbing bas***ds!!! I thought Nissan had a mad mark up........................... Cheers again guys and Vikki. Vijay
  24. Hi Chris, The only problem with that is if it goes missing, the insurance won't be for the full amount :( Vijay
