  13. I WAS JUST UNDOING THE CENTRE PROP BEARING THEN THE TWO WASHES DROPED ONTO THE FLOOR AND I CANT TELL IF THEY COME FROM THE BOTTOM OR THE TOP ITS A 1990 LWB TT MANULE :headvswal
  14. A knock sensor has one purpose...to detect knock/pinking which is caused by pre-detonation. It is self monitoring system to protect the internals of the engine. Pinking can be caused by a handful of variables such as incorrect fuel or a ignition angle that is excessively advanced. By replacing the sensor with a resistor that matches the resistance of the knock sensor will erase the fault code stored in the ECU. The engine will not run on safety boost. However, under certain conditions, the ECU will advance the ignition angle excessively, as the knock sensor circuit is effectively open loop, where there is no feedback from the sensor as it has been replaced with a resistor. This over advance of ignition angle can hinder performance. BUT CAN THIS BE DONE OK OF YOU HAVE A BOOST VALVE TIMMING CONTROL FITTED?????????:)

NOW WHAT,ALL FLUIDS DRAINED RADS OFF AIRCON STRIPED OUT STARTER OFF PROP OFF GEAR BOX UNBOLTED EVEN THOUGH COULD ONLY FIND 7 BOLTS NOT YET SPLIT ALL PLUGS AND WIRES AND PIPES UNPLUGGED GESS IM NEARLY READY FOR THE BIG LIFT ,,,,,,,HAVE I MISSED SOMETHING AND DO I SLPIT BOX FROM BLOCK OR LET GRAVETY TAKE OVER? AND THANKS TO EVERYONE IN HELPING ME ON HERE TO GETTING THIS FAR. :hyper:

  18. sorry im being thick standing behind the gearbox? i have long enough extention oppro4 foot quater drive
  19. im trying to take out engine for the tubs to be done with help of people on here witch has been great but im now stuck, lwb man tt the cars on ramps and ive done a aerch but cant find an idiot guide to take out the gearbox because ive can get to 6 of the eight bolts needed to remove but can i get to the top two ,No i can just about touch them theres no way i can get in there any clues please and how dose it come away from the engine?

  22. 2 nuts to go ive cracked the the bottom two bolts left them in for now but how on earth do you get to the top two bolts on the gearbox i can just about touch them let alone put a 14 m socket on them the other 4 are of it the two top bolts that hold the gearbox to the engine 1990 lwb man tt .any tricks
