  1. Good Luck. Remember your going to have to gain access to some of the stuff in the middle and you don't want to put Aesthetics beyond pragmatisum.
  2. Well I drove my little beauty yesterday after nearly 2 years and she goes very well. Handling has been transformed, but I've got to run her in before I can find out how much better she'll go. Still loads of crappy little jobs to get sorted and the list of things that haven't been done that have supposed to have been done and lots butchery that has to be put right. That bit pi55es me off because before I embarked on getting her sorted she was a very staight and clean car and now its going to take months to get her back to that sort of state, but prettier if you know what I mean. The main thing is we're back in business at last :nana2: :nana2: :D :D
  3. You'll also need new top and bottom Orings about £27 per set, but remember to get 2 sets as they are easy to knacker first time you ever fit em) + new injector seating rings at about £20 + new injector insulators £7.56 Then you'll need a new plenum gasket at £20+ and while the plenum is of you may as well do your PCV valves and hoses about £100. Then of course you'll need a good chip £50 to £150 and someone good set your car up so it don't hole a piston or 2.
  4. give us a ballpark as to a standard type retrim cost.
  5. MMMMMM Rice If you want that pimp my ride look then you go for it. However I think the Z is a sleek sports car and this kind of stuff is of no value as it'll weigh a lot more than original bonnet, but if everyone though like me wouldn't it be great. :D :D

Me too + my rears are 10.5 J too
  7. I got one of these in my car. Is this the one you have a remote with the code in. If so then there is a very tiny switch under the bottom edge of the face. You have to get a knife or a file in to the gap between the lip off the head unit and the bottom edge of the face unit and push the sliding switch back and the face will open. This will enable you to get your CD out but if the motor is goosed then its head unit replacement time. I'm selling mine + the lead faced CD unit as well if your interested. They fit in the original slots one above the other.
  8. Hey my wifes from Athlone and I hear that echo often. The worrying thing though is the more they shout it the more they look like the outlaw and you start insisting they switch the light off
  9. Do you think she's trying to tell you something. I'd check she hasn't taken out more insurance of the we even cover accidental death of the Parashoot kind. Don't Sudden Death & Asociates Ink do a policy for this.
  10. I've never done drag but feel same as John. however when you get it right on the curcuit even your ribs let you know.
  11. Correct Mr chunkster. You have won a booby prize. Its waiting for you in behind a certain shop window in Amsterdam  Look its a wibbly wobbly double booby prize. :D
  12. All I can do is reiterate all that has been said by everyone else and that you'll be in our thoughts and prayers.
  13. YEP I CAN TELL YOU It's hideous :hurl: :hurl:
  14. Gorgeous colour Enjoy it because it won't be long before lots of other people paint theirs a similar colour. I really think your a brave man to spray the car out side. Top man "RESPECT!!!"
  15. Hi John Chris is correct its a 94 but it's just before the fuel rail change. I know this because Middlehursts got me the Yellow top Nismo 555's for a 94 and they wouldn't fit. Anyway I took them up to Grasshopper and let Andy Duff have a look at them and the top O rings have been damaged. So new O rings in the morning and new technique.
  16. Got a problem with my nismo 555 injectors. I'm putting them back in for the third time as one or two of them always weeps ie nackin the O rings. However when I look at them all sat in the rail. What has stuck me is that some of the injectors seem to sit lower in the rail and pertrude further out the bottom. is this OK or not.
  17. I got these on my car but I couldn't tell you how good they are as I haven't driven it for nearly 2 years.
  18. WTF are you on. I bet you like that LS400 that Timmy Turbo is buying
  19.  why would anyone with 20-20 vision and a hole in their arse do such a thing
  20. Well I have to say it even though its Red. Thats a very nice looking Car you got there Greg
  21. Hi mate It wasn't really a question that I wanted and answer for, but more of a question to provoke a little thought which in turn might put to bed this constantly recuring stupid and irrelevent question. It depends on driving style, abillity and what you want or how you want to use your Z as to wether the auto or manual would be most meritorious
  22. ooops I clicked some dodgy tyre instead of Bridgestone. So it should be equal best choice so far.
  23. I've Used to do a lot of milage in the old Zedster so I've tried a few different tyres Had Avon Z1's on when I bought her 1999. Brill in dry frightening in the wet. Next came first set of Bridgestone SO2's. Changerd the character of the car completely. Better in the dry and almost as good in the wet as in the dry. Best tyre I've ever had on the car. Then on someone's recomendation who insisted they were better than Bridgestones, I tryed Dunlops. Worse tyre ever had on car. After 2 weeks I got them changed back to Bridgestone SO2's Next time I couldn't get Bridgestone from our tyre supplier and tried Yokohoma's. I have to say that these are possibly the best tyres I ever had on the car in dry weather conditions, but very twitchy in the rain. So back to Bridgestone Then came Michelin pilots which were ok, but noisier a vaguer feel and not as confidence inspirering as the SO2's Then I tryed SO3's as SO2's getting harder to obtain. These are a good tyre and may even have a very slight edge on SO2 in the dry, but not as good as SO2 in the wet. Yet I think better than any others I've tryed in the rain. Then got a set of wheels with Ventura Sport K104 S on them and contra to opinion on the board I thought these almost as good as the Michelins though they are a bit noisy. Pritty good all round thought I didn't do many miles on em. I did drive in sun wind and rain. Not tried any other makes on Zed thought I've tried them on other performance cars I've had. I really do think Bridgestone SO2's are the best tryer you canput on the Zed.
  24. It all depends on the age and condition of your standard internals. The most important thing with these cars is having someone who really does know theses cars very well working on , or assisting you when doing any work on the motor. What SRRAE say's is true in as much as if the motor is an unknown quantity then beefing up the unit with new big ends, small ends, forge pistons etc would be wise if your going to run more than 15psi. However if the engine is a mint low milage (remember most of these cars are pushing 15 year old and got god knows what history) and the mapping is bange on. ie no denting to destroy pistons etc then I don't see why 500bhp couldn,t be attained with reasonable relyability. However there are a lot of ifs there and if its not mint the rebuild bill will be slightly higher that doing all the work befor you start tunning. Also don't think big ponys come cheap. Thats why super car are usualy £70,000 +
  25. So are you telling me that without a micrometer you can spot the difference, Because I held both in my hands and like I said they look the same and most defo nothing like the T28's. You wouldn't even tell the cams appart unless you mesured em.
