Hi Stu I tend to agree with Jack, Mickeyb, TopLess and others on here and would go for air in the hydrolic fluid or even the wrong hydrolic fluid, but that is not an issue you should involve your self with. The issue at stake here is if the goods and workmanship was not fit for the purpose for which it was sold, (that is a legal statute) and quite obviously not because anything you buy with rgards to a vehicle in the uk is warrantied for 3 months or 5,000 miles if that milage occures prior to three months. In your case it has met neither criteria and they must repair completely at their cost irrespective of what they claim. Speek to a solicitor this I assure you this is correct as I had a new turbo out of Volvo because the one they fitted went pop within 3 weeks and they gave me all the same *****cks. Do not pay for anything or you may run the risk of giving them the opertunity of saying you paid because you knew that your good lady abused the clutch. Citizen Advice isn't all that good.
