  5. Thought that`s what you mean`t, i`ve got a brake vacume kit that does the same sort of thing, sucks it all through though instead, bleeds the system in seconds! Next time you do yer brakes give me a shout if you want to try it.
  6. eh? top of the cylinder? what i`ve bought are replacement bleed nipples with a spring and ball built in to the valve itself, as i have a 91 master i only have the slave and top pipe nipples to replace though the top is a 10 mm if i recall and the ones z1 sent are 7mm which is fine for the slave, google n you`ll see what they are.Oh n my clutch probs seem to be inside the bell so i`m replacing it all,the exchange rates sooo good :hyper:
  7. That would have just been titled bleeders!
  8. Anyone used these before? Just got some the states for my clutch and brakes, not convinced that the top bleed pipe in the clutch is the correct size but will soon find out!
  9. Sounds like your water pump, you can replace it yourself if you have some spanner skills, they`re pretty cheap too. Also for hicas check your brake fluid level or is it power steering level? anyway one of the two being low can cause it to come on
  10. As soon as i saw your header i thought..austin powers! so Mr Richie Cunningham welcome glad you`ve a sense of humour you may well need it! :D
  11. Hi all, when i`m under the motor checking the afore mentioned,if either is bust will it be obvious to the eye i.e hanging loose or in a certain position or is it a bit more difficult to tell? cheers in advance. :D
  12. Hi check the metal pipes coming from the front of the engine there should be two connectors/sensors on the pipe, ones to the ecu & ones for the guage if i recall, pull em off check for corrosion and clean.
  13. Well after looking on the net and then finding out that poor old mr feenys had to go back into hospital i bit the bullet and got a new slave and master ordered from the states even with duty etc it`s too cheap not to,everything else is gradually getting replaced so may as well,RE Andy, will do! figured you were at work as it was in the day but that would be most pleasant old boy cheers! And the slave does move although not as much as normal, when i get a chance i`ll get it on stands and have a look through into the box see if anything obvious in there, don`t suppose anybody has the number of the mechanic mike uses do they? in case it is in box
  14. yeah i bled it from both ends, must admit i wondered about the pivot ball and or the fork, looks like the list is growing cheers fellas, also are the cylinders from the u.s ok to use on a uk spec?
  15. Hi Andy, thought bout you as i drove past yours on thurs hope you`re well! ok after looking up a few posts i think i may have used the wrong fluid when it was bled, used 5.1 i take it this damages the seals? I don`t think i used it in the braking system that was dot 4,do either of these cause problems or do i have to drain the brakes just in case? bugger bugger bugger ah well live n learn i guess.
  16. Hello and good evening! Could anybody help me with possible causes of my clutch pedal travelling all the way to the floor with no resistance and i`m also unable to select gears, fluid seems ok in reservoir, has been bled because was being a bit of a git to change before, this helped, has been ok some times and a sod the next.I`m thinking more air somewhere maybe? Even pivot ball or clutch fork? All suggestions gratefully received..oh and tough luck France! :p
  17. that`s a barrel of worms! i`ve found admiral/elephant pretty good for reg insurance but mines a uk so it`s never been over 400 last one was a multicar so was reduced as well came in at 240 fully comp
  18. YEAH there`s two fuses in mine one says ign other says fuel pump/engine start this is the one to remove, hey i`d had a beer! :D
  19. I had a leak from my turbo pipes that turned out to be the clips not tight enough and the gasket that sits between the metal outlet pipe and turbo missing, would travel down the pipes to the sump
  20. just take out the ignition/enginestart fuse from the little fuse box in the engine bay the engine will crank pushing oil about but won`t fire up
  21. Hey we`re not all rusty..some of us are only rusty..ish! :D
  22. Just out of interest Andy what would make the pipe crack? could the act of conversion put extra strain on the flange,i never noticed that little wet spot first time round but on 2nd view, i concur fella.
