  1. Directly behind there is an o ring, bet thats your prob either split or missing.
  2. I replaced mine as it had started to rust after being exposed to and trapping mud.As stated already 6 bolts & an o ring at the tank, just a semi flexible rubber seal type thing which can be a bugger to move at the cap end and a few bolts holding it to mounting points and a vent hose, would check the area behind the pipe under the underseal by giving it a scrape as deffo a rust trap, waxoil underseal etc.
  3. And give it a couple of goes on the throttle up to 2-3000 revs, gets the pump to give everything a good push, worked great for me.
  4. I managed to fit my dta ones under my nose panel although i had to extend the wires a wee bit.note to danny an extra 2-3inches of cable would be perfect!
  5. Time to move forward mate, and please don`t go putting any blame on yourself,i know what you`re going through and how it can mess your head up if you let it,imho there`s no right or wrong way, just experience, learn from it, grow from it and enjoy the better future it will bring! pip pip old boy :)
  6. White import going past b&q chelmsford, these cars have such a great presence always gets me :)
  7. Aye and do it soon!already know your tax is due on the 1st of march next year and that`s just from looking at the pic and you can`t see your disc! the wheelie bin and gate also give clues as to house numbers etc.Looks very nice by the way well done that`s really low mileage for a 90

  10. Stay strong fella, been there almost to the letter you`ll come through fine, may not seem like it but it`s a growing experience, tell u one thing it won`t happen to you again, ride the emotions and look after number one! By the way how come gruntpa64? makes me think of an cloth capped geriatric racing around causing havoc in his zed.actually don`t tell me I kinda like that image.Take care.
  11. No worries fella, welcome to the family/club/nuthouse,look forward to hearing from ya!
  12. Aye wouldn`t have a prob with that its just that i`m not a fan of making contact details public especially on a car site, would be the first place i`d look if i was gonna rob one, which is a point..if you put pics up maybe an idea to blur out your reg plate as it`s easy to find locations via such things now, call me paranoid but i`ve known some dodgy types in that game and know how they operate, you never know who`s looking fella, anyway when your sorted p.m me etc can sort you out with a copy of the manual for your motor which will help you with issues such as lights elecs etc.
  13. I`m just round the corner from you fella.Mines a black uk tt,ya see if you subscribe you can securely give me your number and can help you with ur lights should you need a hand, have learnt quite a bit about these cars now and what goods knowledge if it isn`t shared eh?
  14. Christ,I`m lucky then! last long trip in my tt got me bout 400miles out of a full tank,we were taking it easy though just cruisin at 70-80

  16. Ah..the look..of love..congrats.
  17. yeah just tried to invade my computer.. die spyware, die!
  18. I`d imagine your post had something to do with smoking then no? Basically if the valves are clogged up it can cause smoking issues and it`s suggested to replace these first if your`re suffering from a bit of fog as it`s a much cheaper and easier remedy if it`s the cause of the problem. As for xmas just been shopping..bloody tescos got they`re xmas choccie packs out! the misus was like ooh should we..put me big boot down on that one ffs! :headvswal
  19. Nah fella it`s relatively easy to do you`ll need an 19mm extension socket along with an angle adaptor to make life a bit easier. It`s the hoses that can be a pain in the bum, well access to the clips in my case but go for it.Search is your friend here.p.s pcv got nowt to do with the turbos,it`s crankcase ventilation, stops internal pressure getting to high.
  20. Wouldn`t worry bout oil unless its dripping! the hoses collect a bit over time, just system doing its job,as for the springs I was the same as you, asked Mike and its cos they`re pattern valves tho perform just as well at a fraction of the cost, fitted mine early summer no probs to report.
  21. Ah you can`t leave it like that, spill the beans!
  22. Glad to hear it! Gazza what can i say!! my heart sank when i clocked your latest smoking post.Personally i think we may as well all turn up to a meet on kiddies trikes. Right well i`m off to fix the car..again,wish me luck
  23. Hey there Mr J.P how`s it going? Has the engine issue been resolved yet? Been feeling that one mate, looks like loads of us essex boys have had issues with the cars lately.
  24. Well, the next time you think you see steam coming from the engine bay and your missus tells you you`re being paranoid..DON`T LISTEN TO HER! Just checked, coolant all over the undertray, pipes etc. Rad`s half full so hopefully only 2 or 3 litres lost from capacity.Turns out top rad pipe had developed a small tear which is now a big tear after removing and a bit of prodding! Just so people are aware it looks like the (jubilie?) clip is the culprit, split just under where you tighten up.Fingers crossed no gasket damage done as may have been driving about for a while like this :wack: If i have been lucky,i can only put it down to catching it before i lost it all, advanced coolant, forte conditioner and silkolene all keeping temps down,oh and not ragging it,well only a couple of short bursts, prob what sealed pipes fate!DTA`s top rad pipe couldn`t have been delivered at a better time :)
  25. Congrats,beats having kittens or so i`m told,personally i love a little pussy....cat.
